Random Writings and Drabbles ((Complete and Incomplete))

Background

I pick up my sisters bags as she runs off to find out what the barking, and yelling, was all about. Following her after doing this action I see a man with blond hair, a tan coat, tan hat, kinda tan pants, and a redish brown scarf as it looked in the dark. I ignore their conversation, I'v taught myself to only talk and listen when addressed. It only took a few lifetimes of being in Nanami's shadow, or her taking all the credit for what I have done. I hated it, I hate her. Though I wouldn't if I didn't have all these memories. I remember all of my past lives, each time I was reborn then died yet again. I don't know why it is me who remembers this, out of everyone in the world why I was chosen to remember centuries of suffering and pain. Though I have a few fond memories of a fox named Tomoe, a few of a Misuki, and a couple of past lovers. Though I normally find myself thinking about the fox Tomoe, he had changed so much over time. Went from one of the most feared Yokai to the Tomagatchi's familiar. I heard Nanami start going off into our story. I add in some small details and a few parts she missed as she went along. Funny thing, she never mentioned me once... it kinda hurt.

"Wow your father was in serous debt. I'm sure you must hate him intensely for running away like that. " Nanami laughed a bit, scratching the back of her neck. I stood in between the two of them. I never hated father much, he could have much more expensive, cruel habits to say the least.  "Well I'm embarrassed to admit it but I abandoned my home. It's been decades since then. There's no telling how everyone's doing. Tomoe " Wait he just said Tomoe..... is he Mikage... no way.. " is bound to jump kick me as soon as I show my face. "

"Wait by any chance is your name Mikage? " I ask, I know I shouldn't have but I did. I am supposed to just be a background character after all, someone who helps in secret. 

"Yes that is my name. How did you know? " He looks over at me, I never thought I would see a god like this.

"I saw a really old poster a long time ago. That is all. " I smile at him, cracking my lip. Bringing a hand to it I let myself fall from the conversation. 

"Still, at least you have a home to go back to. Sounds kinda awesome, we don't even have that anymore. " I'm a slight bit shocked she said we instead of I. I think I'm a bit proud as well, she is finally learning after so long.

"I can give you my home, I don't mind. " If I didn't know who Mikage was at this moment I would have labeled him as a Pedophile and ran. Nanami stops laughing and her expression drops. "The house shouldn't be left unattended forever, and if you are there I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. Most importantly you are more worthy of that home then I am. " He kisses my forehead after brushing my long bangs to the side. I look at him confused, why the hell would anyone do that? "Try going to this place I've mapped out. " He holds out a note, Nanami takes it.  "If you tell them Mikage told you to go there they'll be sure to welcome you. You'll be their new lady and Mistress. " He was walking away as he spoke, moving my hand from my mouth it went up to my head. Shaking it lightly I miss Nanami calling out. She sighs and we set off to the location he mapped out. The whole time I could only think about two things, Is Tomoe there still and what did Mikage do?

About halfway up the stairs I stop Nanami. "Let me go first. Once I'm at the top of the stairs follow me, I'll scream if it isn't safe. "

"Alright, be safe... " I see some worry in her eyes as I start to run up the stairs. Arriving at the top I continue my run until I am inside the shrine. I hear the sound of a fan and faint voices saying Mikage. Before I know it I hear Tomoe's silky smooth voice.

"Indeed it is Mikage. " I turn around an spot the silhouette of a figure, it was their back but I could tell it was Tomoe's silhouette. I know him though... he does not know me though. "Where have you been? I've waited quite some time for your return. Twenty years feels like an absolute eternity to me, how about you? " He looked over his shoulder at me, the door was closed so I was kinda hidden in the darkness like him. It was wonderful to see his face again, even if it was one of anger. I took in every detail I could make out in the moonlight, seeing that his hair is still very short as it was in my past life. I stumble and fall when he comes at me. "Die you fiend!! " I force myself not to hit him or scream because of what I told Nanami, I heard voices outside but was focused on this. I admit I was shocked when he got close to my face yelling with his claws out. It took him a few seconds before he stopped. I resisted the urge to reach my hands out and touch his face... that resulted in my reaching out and touching his ears though. His ears are so soft they feel like clouds, I want to cuddle them now. Fascinated by how soft his ears are I play with them, ignoring the look he gives me. Nanami opens the door and screams even more then before. Tomoe stands up with makes me get to my feet and get on my tippy toes to reach his fluffy ears. He shoos me away and I dejectedly go into the corner. "This is not Mikage. " 

"Well no duh Tomoe. I'm Mamani Momozono. I have other names you know me by but those aren't important. " I huff and look at him. Two little ghosts appear and Nanami faints, she must be really confused. 

"Master Tomoe as you can see the mark of the land god- " I tune him out on accident as I absorb that information. 

"WAIT LAND GOD?! " I look around at the mess. "No you must be mistaken. Nanami should be the land god, it is how it is in every life. I live in her shadow or she takes credit for what I do. It's just how it works. Clearly a mistake has been made here. " I point at Nanami, it's not like I'm lying after all. "I'm just a background character, someone you'll spot that secretly helps out. I'm the help not the one being helped. " I knew that there was panic in my eyes, I could hear it in my tone. "So how do I make this thing " I point to my forehead where the mark is, "go over there. "

I sit there waiting for Nanami to come to, she should be coming to any second now. She sits up and blabs something before looking around, jumping to her feet and screaming something. I had automatically tuned out everyone the second she woke up. Seeing the two floating children go around her celebrating something I tune back into the world and sit in the shadows. It was Nanami droning on about how this couldn't be happening. I was a bit angered when Tomoe got that close to her, just maybe two inches and they would be kissing, but at least it was to insult her. 

"Hey! You've been awfully high and mighty and rude to me! I bet a rundown shrine like this doesn't even get people making money offerings! You couldn't pay me to do it. " I bite my tongue to prevent me from lashing out at my twin. I wasn't about to tell her the whole history of the shrine and how our mother used to come here and pray for good luck, Dad not finding the money, ect. She then went on shaking her head saying know as the two children tried to calm her. How much I want to go over there and slap her now can't even be put into a number. I nearly go and do it, nearly.

"If you intend to give that woman a place here, then I will leave this shrine. " Tomoe turns around and starts to walk off, I know where he is going. Getting up I take my singular bag with me and grab onto his kimono, following him. I'm not letting this slid.

"Master Tomoe. " The two children cry out. They likely wanted to make him Nanami's familiar as well. I could understand why though, I mean this place still looks pretty clean without a god to cleanse the air thanks to him. 

"I am Mikage's familiar. " Is all he says.
