Hey guys!! This is pretty exciting chapter so I hope you guys like it! Love you all ❤️
"And when was the last time you had unprotected sex?"
"Your wedding night" You whisper before sitting down on the couch and putting your head in your hands, "Over a month ago"
Even though you can't see it you hear Annie take a deep breath and can practically see her making a pro and con list on her fingers.
"I just really didn't want this to happen right now, Dave and I finally have our shit together after so many years and we're still so young—this was supposed to be our time" You sigh, "I know it sounds so selfish but I just wanted us to be able to be a straight up couple for a little bit, just to make up for lost time. All I've ever wanted is normalcy and all we ever have is drama. I just wish we could've had a little more time, just like a year or so, to be a normal couple."
"You are gonna be a normal couple! Normal couples have babies Jules" Annie tries to reassure you.
"Normal couples are together for a couple years, then get married, then have a baby. They don't waste almost fifteen years fucking around, spend one consecutive month actually together, and then have a baby eight months later. That's not normal, that's strange."
"I'm sorry, when did you get so conservative?" Annie asks in astonishment.
"I'm just going with the most basic understanding of what most couples do" You snap defensively.
"You guys are unique! You didn't follow the regular path at any point why should this be any different, you're both so happy right now, just look at it positively." She says, rubbing encouraging circles into your back.
"But what about our jobs? I mean we were barely getting used to the idea of him touring and me being in LA and both of us wanting to spend time in Virginia, but what about throwing a baby into that? Plus I'm on track for partner at my firm, Dave is gone all the time—is this even a healthy environment for a family?" You ramble, starting to panic more with each sentence.
"Julia, you love Dave so much, and he loves you more than any fucking thing in the world. For now just look at things in that perspective, please" Annie says and you nod, gulping.
"You're right Annie, I know Dave likes to say I'm always right but he needs to talk to you more" You say with as much of a laugh as you could muster.
"How do you feel about it overall though, put aside all the worries about living situations and jobs and amount of time together...how do you feel about possibly having a baby?" She asks and you don't even need to think before you answer her.
"I am happy, I know there are so many reasons this could mess up our lives, but I'm really, really happy. Can you imagine a little Dave running around?" You say, a tentative smile spreading across your face
"Honey before we get too ahead of ourselves lets go to the convenience store tomorrow and get a test" Annie says calmly, "Just try to get some sleep"
Dave's POV
"Ok so what exactly did you hear Annie say" You ask Jimmy running your hand over your chin and wishing you still had a beard to pull on in times of stress.
"She just like said the word, 'pregnant" Jimmy says with a sigh, "I don't know man, I only heard like a sentence, I don't know anything for sure" He adds, opening up a beer and the rest of the guys retreat without you having to ask, understanding this was a serious conversation.
"Did Annie say anything to you about it?" You ask aggressively.
"Nah man" Jimmy shakes his head and looks down at his feet.
