NATHAN’S P.O.V

Midnight now, great. The castle was silent tonight as most people had the night off. I woke up hours ago before the sun had even set and I think it had something to do with my pretty little mate. I had been bored out of my mind with nothing to do- even my PS3 didn’t hold my interest for long.

If being in love means losing interest in all my previous loves, then I guess it sort of sucked. But I’m not complaining.

Just as I was about to climb down the grand staircase, I bumped into Alexander.

“Yo, Alex,” I grinned and held up my fist for a fist bump.

He ignored my fist and looked me straight in the eye. “Nathan, I can’t find Rebecca anywhere. I’ve looked for her everywhere!”

I slowly lowered my fist and frowned. “Maybe she went out.”

“That’s the problem!” he exclaimed. “I know she’s in the castle but I don’t know where.”

I eyed him carefully because he looked half out of his mind right now. “Okay, I’ll help you look for her and meet Emerson later.”

“You will?” I nodded in reply and he almost hugged me. “Thank you!”

So, now I’m here wandering in the left wing of the second floor where all the guests stayed.

“Rebecca, hello? Where are you?” I said slowly to nothing in particular. I was still wary of her because she looked dangerous and to be honest, I was a little bit scared of her. I couldn’t help but feel she’s going to jump out of the shadows and attack me.

I gulped. I seriously need to stop watching those scary movies so much. But I need to man. I mean, I’m a vampire prince and vampire princes are not just afraid of average vampire chicks with weird eyes.

I hoped Alex was having better luck than me because let’s face it I don’t want to be the one to find her. And I couldn’t help but be grateful that Melissa was out tonight running some errand of hers. She had just taken off as soon as the sun had set and she seemed excited and jittery.

Gareth my not so lovely cousin seemed to share those feelings. At least he was locked in his room and was not out bothering me.

After what seemed like an eternity, I walked through the third floor where Melissa and other important guests had their rooms. I was just passing Melissa’s door when it swung open and hit me in the face. I bit back the curse word that threatened to explode out of my mouth as I rubbed my nose. What the heck, I thought she was out!

But to my surprise Alex stepped out.

“Man! What are you doing here?” I exclaimed. My voice came out all nasally since my hand was still holding my nose.

“Nathan, come in quick,” he said. He looked all pale and worried (that’s a first) so I followed him in without a word.

Melissa’s room was all pink. The large pink canopy bed, pink wallpaper, pink dresser… Gag me. Alex strode to the end of the room and pulled aside a heavy pink curtain, revealing a hidden door there. It was made of plain pale wood. My eyes widened. This castle was my home but I knew absolutely nothing about that hidden door. To my knowledge, it shouldn’t even be there.
