His mind was scrambled, the voice in his head was screaming at him to feed. Telling him that he needed to quench his thirst.
The man held his head, feeling his hair. Silky soft hair. The smooth feeling of the keratin through his fingers helped him regain control.
But that voice persisted. He needed to feed, to drink, to hurt. It didn't matter who, he just needed this.
He shook his head, removing his hand from the soft hair and turned to face the mirror on the wall. The cool air wisped by as he walked over to it, only half a foot away.
Reaching up, feeling the cold surface. He opened his mouth and pulled his lips up. Just as he thought, they got longer.
"At a time like this, why?" He thought aloud. He turned away and his eyes fell upon a family portrait-like photo.
Logan, Patton, Roman, Virgil. It was their first picture together. Roman thought it was about himself, so he struck a dramatic pose. Virgil was cowarding away from view. Logan dead stared at the camera, no smiling. Patton was smiling sadly as he tried to make the picture somewhat nice.
He scoffed as his eyes fell on Roman. That red sash... Rosy cheeks... That smile... Presenting his body in such a way that screams "take me!".
But this aggravated him. That was his boyfriend! He can't do that! Then why is that little voice saying "He's the one! Take your prey!"?
For a second, time stood still. He had no control over his body. He licked his teeth and panted, the weight of hunger hitting him like a brick.
"He won't die, I won't take that much..."
The man trudged over to his door, shuffling his feet lazily. Opening the door slowly, the stench of blood and flesh filled the air. It took all the man's might to not let it take over him.
But as he walked out, the aroma kept getting stronger, heavier, enchanting. It made him hungry, thirsty.
There was a familiar voice singing. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow from Wizard of Oz..." The man spoke in almost a whisper. The familar voice continued to sing.
The wood floor creaked, how old was this house? Much younger than the man, that's for sure. The man was old, yet stayed young. Hundreds of years of hardly any feasting, all the other closet vampires were jealous of him.
But as he shuffled closer, that familiar voice stopped singing. Why did he stop singing?
The man looked at the door and hesitated. "I can't do it to him..." But that voice in his head grew louder. Feed! Take him! You need this!
The man grew impatient and opened the door. "Logan! Wha- ah- what are you doing here?"
The man- er- Logan bounded for the man with the familiar voice. Toppling over, Logan pinned his boyfriend to the floor. "Please forgive me, I tried-!"
It was in a split second, Logan's fangs sunk into his shoulder. That cry of pain struck him with instant guilt.
"Logan!" The screams were so loud and strained. He fought weakly, trying to save himself.
Logan continued to drink the blood, licking the skin for any scraps. The taste was so sweet and addicting, he needed more!
His lover beneath him squirmed, trying to get away from the pain. It stung, the spot was so sensitive. Everything that was applied felt 10 times as it normally would be.
But soon, that area ran dry of blood. Logan had taken so much blood from that one area. But Logan was still hungry, thirsty!
He removed his fangs, his lover screamed in pain.
That voice in his head. Take more! You need more!
Logan went for his lover's jugular, but stopped himself. "I'm so sorry-" Logan whispered before sinking his fangs into his lover's neck, just past the jugular.
So much blood came flowing out, almost too much. Logan drank as fast as he could, but this was too much for him.
"Logan!" The voice beneath him shrieked and punched him in the stomach. Logan tore his fangs out and put his hand on the fang punctures.
His lover was losing blood quick. Think Logan, think!
Something to stop the bleeding. Logan took his shirt off as quick as possible, crumpled it, and held it to his boyfriend's neck. The cloth quickly soaking up the blood.
"Logan..." The voice was weak and raspy.
Logan felt a tightness in his chest and his eyes watered. "Roman- I'm so sorry..." Logan felt this unimaginable guilt well up inside him.
Roman closed his eyes and exhaled. "No... No! No-! Roman!"
Logan picked up Roman bridal style, still keeping the shirt to his neck. "I can't lose you..."

How long?" Roman's voice echoed through the hospital room, grabbing the attention of Logan.
"How long what?" Logan stood up and walked over to Roman's bedside. He reached out and stroked his lover's cheek.
Roman nuzzled into his touch amd closed his eyes temporarily. "How long have you been alive?" Logan froze.
"Two hundred years..."
A small chuckle came from Roman. "I'm assuming I'm not your first lover."
The beeping of the heart monitor tranced Logan. The buzz of the humidifier dazed him.
"You'd be correct... But I've never wanted to marry any of my past lovers." Logan stated matter of factly. A small gasp escaped Roman's mouth. "Did- was that a semi proposal?"
Logan chuckled and leaned over. "I suppose it was." He kissed Roman lightly and licked his lips.
"What was that for?" Roman giggled and raised an eyebrow.
Logan looked to the side and blushed. "Ah... Vampire instinct?"
There was a silence for a moment.
"Why did you never tell me?"
More silence. The beeping of the heart monitor had gotten faster, but not too fast.
"I... I was scared that... you would leave me, if you found out I was a vampire." Logan stood up straight and sat back down.
A laugh came from Roman. "If that's why you were scared, then you've got nothing to worry about! Have I never told I dated two werewolves in high school? Good grief! They are so needy and touchy!"
A small chuckle escaped than silence once again.
"Y'know... I'm glad you're my first vampire boyfriend." Roman spoke out.
This caught Logan off guard. "Ah- wai- huh- why??" He stuttered, not knowing what to say or even how words work. "Because I love you for you and being a vampire is just a bonus."
"I love you too, Ro."
