I backed the car out of the drive way and I was in the road, It turned left and drove straight ahead.

Standing on the street was Stefan, a taxi was parked next to him, Bels waved to him. I waved too, smiling, I didn't want him to see I was upset, he waved back.

I stopped the car as I saw him approaching us.

'As you guys not coming? where are your stuff?' He said lending against the unwinded window

'Urmm, yeah, no, something came up, sorry!' Bels replied

'Oh what? You're going to miss out on all the fun! Please!' Stefan begged,  Looking at me

'Sorry, just go and have fun!' I said trying to smile. 'You too!' I said pointing at Bels

'What no! Your mum just died, I'm not going to go and have fun while you're at home in pain!' Bels said, then realising what she said with stefan around

'What?  You're mum, passed away? Sorry!' Stefan said

'Yeah, but its okay' I said with an attitude

'My mum died a year ago, from a car accident

'Really?' I said,  putting my hand on my heart ' Urmm... Wow, sorry! I kinda need to go, Bels?' I said,  grabbing hold of the stirring wheel

'No! I'm not going!' She insisted

'Go! Please I'll be haply if you're happy!' I said persuading her

'But! ...' she started

I gave her puppy dog eyes

'Please, I dont want you to lose this opportunity, you need to forget about you know who!' i said

I saw Jonnie and Cheryl in the corner of my eye, Stefan ran towards them and directed them to the taxi

Stefan ran to the car, 'Are you coming?' Sfefan said out of breathe

'N..!' Bels said about to say no

'Yes!' I said, responding for her

'Perfect! Come on!' Stefan said opening the car door

'What?!' Bels said

I laughed

She laughed too 'Fine! Wait, I haven't got my bikini!' She realized

Stefan grabbed her arm and dragged her to the taxi, she hugged Jonnie

'Why isn't Rose coming?' asked Cheryl

'Its her mum, she sadly passed away!' Bels whispered

'Ohh! Awhh!'Cheryl said, waving at me from across the road

they all got in the taxi, and drove off, I sat in the car for a bit.

I started the car and went around the roundabout. Within 3 minutes I was outside the house, I parked the car in the drive way, I took the keys and got out of the car, I closed the door behind me and quickly ran up to the door.

I got my house keys out my cardigan and put it on the door, I pushed door handle down to test if in case it was unlocked, it wasnt.

I unlocked the door, when I walked in I saw dad sat in the kitchen with a glass of whisky in his hands and the bottle in front of him.

The tears I had kept in started streaming down my face, ' Dad!' I cried

'Rose!' He said standing up after having a last sip of the whisky.

'Dad!' I cried again

'Awhh, Honey! Come here!' He said, I could see his eyes starting to water.

I had never seen my dad cry before,  not even when his brother died.

I ran towards dad with my arm wide open, I hugged him, I squeezed tight and cried, Dad was lending on my shoulder and was using his fingers to brush my hair.

We stood there for about 5 minutes before we unhugged and went to sit on the sofa.

'When is the funeral dad?' I asked, sniffing

'Friday.' He replied.
