Light dim and unfamiliar crept behind her lids and she stirred. You had woken up to the sight of blond strays of hair covering a slightly bruised and tattered Toshinori as he laid hunched over on your bedside, sleeping peacefully while holding your arm.You were puzzled by him honestly, you couldn't think how he sent a letter asking to separate and yet be by your bedside sleeping and holding your arm.
You pulled your arm from his grasp, which caused him to grunt and slowly wake up and open his vibrant blue eyes. It took him a minute but he gasped and quickly hugged you tightly.
"I am so happy to see you are okay!" Toshinori whispered, "I was shocked to see you at home on the floor like that, so I brought you to the hospital."
"Why?" You mumbled, "You made your statement clear to me..."
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
"You know exactly what I am talking about," You said, "After all you wrote it..."
"Hana, what is this about?" He asked getting a little annoyed.
"You know exactly what this is about!" you yelled out of frustration and heartbreak, "You wrote to me you wanted us to end so why would you care if I was unconscious or even dead!"
"Hana!" Toshinori yelled, "I didn't write any of that!"
"Yes you did!" you yelled back.
"Hana..." Toshinori breathed, sadness shining brightly into his eyes. He had no idea what got you to think this way especially since he practically fought his way to your heart, and it broke his heart.
"...I just wished you had the guts to tell me in person and not through a letter." You stared deep into his eyes and he shivered as you spoke calmly: "Because I thought you loved me the same way I loved you."
"No..." Toshinori whispered not liking the way this conversation was going, "No I still do! What letter are you talking about?! The last letter I wrote to you was dated April 18th,"
"That was the same letter I received..." you mumbled, "I think it is best that you leave..."
The silence that followed had something incredibly uneasy and heavy. Toshinori stepped back then turned around to reach the door. He was going to leave, but something behind his eyes knew that he was going to do a little investigating of his own.
"You can't leave me, Hana,"
You shuddered when he spoke and stared at him in confusion and pain. He had stopped just in front of your room door.
"I am going to find out who did this because I know that I didn't end anything through a letter with you," He said slowly, not moving an inch, "After everything we have been through, I not going to let you slip through my fingers so easily."
You had trouble swallowing at this point. He sounded so heartbroken and angry, which was unlike him considering that letter held everything down to his penmanship exactly like his so why was he acting differently.
He sighed then opened the door.
"I am going to find out who did this because I'll be damned if they get away with wiping the smile off of my angel's face."
Toshinori stayed silent for a few moments as if he was thinking if he should say something else. Eventually, his shoulders relaxed and he opened the hospital door.
"Hana..." His words trailed off and you saw him slightly glancing at you before facing the corridor again, "I am only leaving because you asked me to...but don't ever forget this, I love you and will always go beyond for you."
The words that left his mouth were just as painful as you being unable to see his face as he walked out of your room without looking back. You heard his steps echoing in the hospital corridors, getting fainter and fainter.
There at that moment, you felt your soul being amputated. It was the worse. You just didn't know what you wanted. You wanted to be left alone but you wanted to be comforted by the one person you just asked to leave. You tried to get at the pain but you just couldn't grip it.
