Chapter 7

I don't feel anymore pain. My body is relaxed, and my soul doesn't feel so lonely. It's a nice feeling after such agony.

I blinked my eyes open to find myself in an unfamiliar place. I'm in the center of a grassy field, with a warm breeze blowing through my hair. The clouds are fluffy and orange, floating across the turquoise sky. There are mountains in the distance, and tall trees to my left.

To my right, I see Reid, who is smiling at me and holding my hand. I noticed that he's slightly glowing a light blue color, even his eyes look blue.

At first, I thought I was dreaming, but this feels too odd. I don't feel like I'm physically here, and that's when I realized where we are. We're in the spirit world. Otherworld. Reid and I are completely naked to each other in spirit, body, and mind.

I felt insecure, but then I noticed that Reid is looking at me like I'm the most beautiful thing he's ever seen, and I didn't feel so scared.

He pulled me close and pressed his lips to mine in a gentle kiss. He soon pulled away, lifting his hand to his mouth and biting down on his wrist.

I gasped and I grabbed his arm, but then he shook his head and pressed his new open wound, weeping glowing blue blood, to my lips.

And then I knew. We're mating.

I licked up his light blue blood, and moaned as it coursed through me, warming my body and soul. Then I felt it cutting into something. It's breaking my imprint with Oddison! Wherever I felt the bond breaking, the cracks were instantly filled with Reid. The bond isn't complete yet.

I pulled away and lifted my wrist to bite onto it, but Reid shook his head. He pulled me close, wrapping his arms around me, and he nuzzled my neck. Bolts of pleasure and pain shot through my body as he bit my neck, drinking his fill.

I gasped in relief as I felt the connection between Oddison and I break, and a new one form completely between Reid and I. It feels much more fulfilling, now that we're finally together as mates. Our bond is much stronger than the one I had before.

Reid pulled away, my glowing red blood covering his lips. He smiled and kissed me again, and I savored the feeling of his lips on mine again. Our first kiss as pure mates.

When we pulled away, I noticed a flash of light behind my eyelids. I furrowed my eyebrows in curiosity.

Reid tugged on my hand, gesturing me to follow him. And so I did, and we walked towards a darker area of the strange but beautiful place, and another light shined from above us, and swallowed us in its power.

My spirit was sucked downwards at a speed that stole my breath away, and when everything was still, I inhaled sharply. I'm laying down, and I feel rather comfortable. I'm not in agony, and I didn't feel any nausea.

I opened my eyes and immediately saw Father standing over me with Dawn, who is nervously holding a small cup of brownish liquid.

There was movement beside me. I looked over to see Reid awakening, slowly sitting up and rubbing his head.

"Complete the mating," Father instructed. "The binding is gone."

I gave him a nod, and then he set a hand on my son's shoulders, and they both vanished. Then Father's words finally sank in, and my eyes widened slightly.

He's right, the binding between Oddison and I is gone. Now, there's just one more thing Reid and I need to do to finish creating our own connection.

I looked at him to see his confused expression. His gaze met mine, and realization came over his features.

"Oh," was all he said, and I grinned at him.
