((YES!! IT'S AN UPDATE!!! AND TO HONOR AN UPDATE AFTER SUCH A LONG TIME, I MADE IT SPECIAL!!! ENJOY!!!))

Switch's POV:
I woke up in da middle of da night ta the sound of creaking above me. Likely one of da boys gettin up ta use da john or somethin'. Stretchin', I sat up once more and rubbed my face, tryin' ta get da sleep outta my eyes. If Knuckles came down and saw me snoozin' on watch, it'd just been anudda fight.

I looked around and saw Piper, sleepin' like an angel. Her lips had a soft, effortless smile to them, da kinda smile I wished she'd always have on her face. Moonlight peeked out from behind da constant New York cloud cover and shone in through da window, falling on Piper's face and makin' her glow as if she were made of pure moonlight.

I ran my fingas through my hair, holdin' my head in my hands for a minute.

'Whatsa matta with me?' I asked myself. 'I ain't neva fallen for no goil before. I always said I ain't neva gonna get tied down, be free foreva. Love at foist sight and all dat smoke don't exists...' I thought, before slowly looking back at Piper and smiling softly inspite of myself. 'Dat is till I found youse...'

I took a deep breath and sighed, sitting back in my chair and smiling softly as I watched Piper dreamin'.

"I got no use for moonlight," I sang softly, careful not to wake her.

"Or sappy poetry.
Love at foist sight's for suckas,
At least it used ta be.
Da goils are nice,
Once or twice,
Till I find someone new,
But, I neva planned on someone...
Like you."

I smiled softly, rising from my chair and slowly takin' off my jacket, layin' it ova Piper as she slept.

"Wouldn't want cha ta get cold." I whispered softly, chucklin' a bit since I knew she couldn't hear me.

I stepped back again and sat down da window sill, lookin' back at Piper. How could I have fallen so quickly? I didn't think it was possible. I'd always assumed Romeo was just makin' it up, all dat sudden love and how quick it came, how ya could suddenly see someone completely differently, as an angel. Man, how could I been so wrong? Guess it was cause I hadn' met her.

"I got no use for moonlight,
Or sappy poetry.
Love at foist sight's for suckas,
At least it used ta be.
Da goils are nice,
Once or twice,
Till I find someone new,
But, I neva planned on someone...

I smiled a bit as I finished singin' and walked back ova to her. Hesitantly, I leaned down and gently kissed her cheek. It was soft and warm, just like her. When Piper didn't wake up, I smiled and went back ta my chair, settling into it once more and fallin' back asleep.

I didn't hear Piper murmur a name of another Newsie in her sleep... Spot.
