Chapter Fifteen ~ Confession

She takes a deep breath before responding.

"I'm nothing like the women you usually go for, they're ridiculously beautiful. I'm average and too much of a burden."

"Is that what you think? Is that why you're so upset? You honestly think you're not good enough for me, that the fact your blind is a burden?"

She nods, swallowing the lump in her throat.

"Y/N, you're so stupid. I need you to listen to me and listen closely, remember the day we first met?"

She chuckles and gives a nod, of course she remembers.

"I was so fascinated with you, nobody had ever spoken to me like that before. I'm so used to people doing everything they possibly can to please me that when you put me in my place it was refreshing. I couldn't stop thinking about you after that, you were constantly on my mind."

She feels his fingers pry her own away from the cup, heart racing as he laces them together with his own.

"I never told you this but the second time I got to see you wasn't at the café, it was late one night after leaving the club."

She cocks a brow..... what was he talking about?

"It was raining, you were standing opposite the club and I was heading to my car. I couldn't believe it was you, I knew in that moment it wasn't just coincidence. I was so curious, I wanted to know more about you. I called Jin that night and asked him to find out more about the café, we discovered Jisoo was struggling with the payments and so Jin contacted her and we came to an arrangement." 

She nibbles at her bottom lip, heart skipping a beat as his thumb caresses the back of her hand.  

"I don't understand, are you telling me the only reason you wanted the café was to get closer to me?"

He laughs. "Yeah, I know it's not the most conventional way to meet someone and get to know them. I've never been good at stuff like that, especially with someone who makes me nervous."

She smiles. "I was at the library that night, I like to stay there late sometimes to read. I know the librarian, she's sweet and always lets me stay even when she closes for the night. I was reading late, she was rearranging some of the books and gosh....it must've been the early hours of the morning when I finally left. I like the rain, after losing my sight I started to appreciate the little things."

Taehyung squeezes her hand gently, his touch causing her to blush.

"Maybe we can go to the library together sometime?"

She nods, smiling like an idiot to which Taehyung chuckles.

"You're so adorable Y/N."

She shakes her head and scoffs. "I'm definitely not adorable." 

She feels herself calming down, it's nice to talk with him like this.

Maybe they can fix things.

Maybe she hadn't lost him.

"Y/N you're right about one thing, you're different from the women I usually spend time with."

She nods, fighting back the lump in her throat.

"You're so much better."

She stills, not knowing what to say.

"You're beautiful, inside and out. I love your strength and courage, you lost your sight but never once let it get you down. I love how stubborn you are, how much passion you have and the love you show to those around you. I love your innocence, you're not afraid to be yourself and that's a rare quality. Y/N.....at first I just wanted to know you, for us to be friends. Then something happened, the more time we spent together as friends the more I found myself falling for you."

She blinks back tears, now isn't the time to start ugly crying.

Nobody needs to see her ugly cry.

"I care for you and want to try and make this work."

It wasn't the romantic confession one would expect but this was Kim Taehyung and he wasn't great when it came to romance.

"I know what you're thinking, that I've got a reputation when it comes to women but you're different. I would never intentionally hurt you, I promise."

Suddenly her mind recalls the phone conversation from earlier.

"Sasha answered your phone earlier, did you sleep with her?" She curses inwardly once the tears start to fall, she didn't want him to see her cry again.

"Yes, I'm so sorry. I was just so confused with my feelings for you, angry that for two days you ignored me. I got drunk and did something stupid, please forgive me."

She couldn't really be mad at him, they weren't together.

"It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong. I was just....jealous."

Taehyung chuckles and she feels the table shift as he leans across it.

"This won't be easy, we're both stubborn and afraid of commitment but we'll make this work." He whispers against her ear, his hot breath dancing along the exposed skin causing her to shiver.

"I'm going to kiss you now." She swallows hard at his words, heart racing as she feels his fingertips move along her lips.   

Taehyung.

The kiss obliterated every thought.

Drunk on endorphins his only desire was to touch her, to move his hands under her fabric layers and feel her perfect softness. In moments the soft caress has become more firm, he savours her lips and the quickening of her breath that matches his own. A kiss like this was a beginning, a promise of much more to come.

He stares deep into her striking eyes as he pulls back, cupping her cheek that's warm to the touch.

She's so beautiful.

So perfect.

He hasn't lost her.

Thanks goodness he hasn't lost her.

He smiles before slowly leaning in and capturing her lips once more, heart  beating so loudly he feels like it's going to explode. Sparks flew in every direction, as the world slowly disappeared around them along with all of their worries and doubts.

She made him feel like none of that mattered.

It was a small yet warm kiss.

He honestly never knew a kiss so innocent could be so intimate and electrifying.

Her lips were moving with his in perfect sync as he pulled her closer....the kiss becoming deeper, more passionate.

Taehyung felt her hands on the back of his neck tugging at the hair there, a smile grew on his face as it started to tickle before he reluctantly pulled back.

They both smiled.

Hopefully this was the start of something wonderful.
