If you are this far in the story you must at least be interested in it...thank you! 🤗 I leave next month for a trip to south east Asia pretty scary. Enjoy

I looked her up and down, she made no movements at all, so still, I thought she could have been a wax model. Her eyes are so striking, I couldn't get over it, they were beautiful but they held nothing there. They were empty. I could tell she knew I was trying to figure her out, I looked down her arms to see well manicured orange nails, she swiftly turned her hands over hiding them. Her demeanor was changing, I watched before me, it was fake which was one thing I realized, to shut people out. I wondered what her name was, I needed to know.
"What are you doing in my room?" She spoke, she almost sounded like an angel if it wasn't for the way she behaved, I'm sure she has her reasons. Her icy blue eyes now retreating away from mine, blonde hair like I could never imagine graced her. I tried to open my mouth but I was speechless. Come on Megan you can do this.
"Umm your parents took..."
Before I could finish her parents burst through the door.
"Oh there you are sweetie, I'm so glad you didn't leave...what are you doing in here?" Clarissa asked relieved.

Her parents and her gave each other funny looks like they were communicating by other means, a mutual understanding maybe.
Clarissa raised her eyebrow at her daughter waiting for an answer.
"Don't look at me, she walked in here and fell asleep whilst I was in the shower". She gritted her teeth.
"I'm really sorry, I was going to leave but I..i" I couldn't finish my sentence I had no words, I dropped my head in shame. I was embarrassed, for I had never been in this predicament before.
Clarissa came to my side and wrapped an arm around me. "It's okay sweetie come on let's go and get you a drink". I looked over at the girl, our eyes meeting briefly until she got caught looking at me and looked elsewhere. I bowed my head and walked out of the room with Clarissa.

It had been a few hours and I had not seen that girl. That girl. What is her name? Who is she? Why is she so cold? I walked down into the games room it was the middle of the night, only to find Mark playing games still. He heard my movements and whipped his head around to see who it was. "Oh hey, can't sleep?" He seemed to be very genuine at this moment of time and sincere which was sweet.
I just shook my head. "Don't talk much do you, but I heard you met my sister that's enough to scar you for life". He chuckled, I tilted my head sideways at the mention of his sister, listening intently. "Do you not get on with her?" He smiled whilst still playing his game. "It's not that, she's just complicated I guess". I was confused. "I don't understand". I sighed.
"Why don't you go and ask her? Because I don't have the answers either". He put his hand on my arm comforting me as a brother would. I half smiled at him and got up to leave, maybe I could make use of the quiet house at this nocturnal time and explore. Wandering around the hallways I had found, another living room, a cinema room, and a gym. My mind subconsciously led me back over to where the girl's room was, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, however, this was not the case.
Carrying on past her door, a few doors down at the end of the hall was an antique wooden framed beauty of a door. I decided this could not be a bedroom and opened it and peeked my head around. Wow. I had just found the most beautiful library and no one was in here. My eyes went wide like a child in a candy shop. I slowly walked around each section until I found the fantasy books, they were always my favorite growing up, being taken to other lands where my problems did not matter. I could escape them, even just for a short amount of time. They made me feel like there were other possibilities out there and not just the ones that I had to deal with at that moment in time.
I sat down and started to read 'the lion the witch and the wardrobe' even though I had read it numerous time and it was a film I could never get enough.

Hours went by and I decided to go to the bedroom that they had kindly given me, my own bedroom could you believe it? As I walked through the door my body collided with someone. I started to fall backward until warm hands caught me, shock splattered my face. Blue eyes. "I'm sorry" I looked down at the floor, she was just staring. Looking back up as this was an awkward encounter, starting to move around her. "What are you even doing here" she demanded.
"You, your..your parents" I stuttered but she interrupted me. "Yes I know my parents took you in, but why don't you leave, it is much better that way". How could she be so cruel? A tear left my eye and I walked out without another word and left.

The next morning was glorious, the sun was shining and I felt fresh. Another day had begun and it was time to put everything in the past.  I walked downstairs and saw my sister for the first time, she ran over to me and hugged me very tightly. "I'm sorry we were arguing Megan, please can we be okay I again, I've missed you". I just smiled and nodded, everyone was looking at us. I heard a cough. It was her. Those blue eyes, looking at me, analyzing and over thinking. I couldn't care anymore, she was nothing but mean to me, I'm surprised to even see her with everyone. We all sat at the table eating breakfast, making small talk. As usual, my sister spoke mostly out of the two of us, I said a couple of words here and there but wasn't in the mood for that, I just wanted to go outside and explore their land.
