After Romario came to my house making accusations, our communication had been almost non-existent. He had a lot of speculation but no fact to back it up and I was admitting to nothing. I kept busy by taking some summer courses and this part time job I had working for a travel agency. I took the job to keep my mind off everything else and it was something I could do from home that didn't interfere with my school work. I just finished up with a client call when my phone starts vibrating. I look at the screen and see it is Romario calling. I debated on whether to answer the phone or not, but quickly decide to answer it. I couldn't lie, I missed him.

"Hello", I answered, trying to sound uninterested.

"Hey babe, I really need to talk to you so please hear me out."

"You have 5 minutes. I am working and have other stuff to do", I replied.

"Listen, I am sorry about how I have been acting", he started. I interjected, "Thanks is that it?"

"Nicolette, please let me finish", he pled. "I messed up I know but give me a chance to make it right. I am going to New York to see my family tomorrow and I would love for you to take the ride with me". I stayed silent for a while. I wanted to say no but my mouth wouldn't cooperate. I don't know why it was so hard to say no. I finally spoke up.

"Fine, I'll go", I responded dryly.

"Great. I promise you won't regret it. I have a big surprise for you. We can meet up at the student center at 6am, sound good?'

"Sure". I was a little more enthusiastic. What could this surprise be? What if he was going to propose? Why else would he finally want me to meet his family? What if they don't like me? So many questions ran through my head. We ended the phone call. I decided to start packing my things. Hopefully we would put all this drama behind us. I still was up in the air about the whole Janessa chick but I would deal with that later.

After hanging up with Nicolette, I had so many emotions. I was still sure that she had something to do with Trey's death. I still had her diary. I hadn't had a chance to read it but I would tonight. I was in deep thought until I heard my name.
