Song of the chapter:
If Only by Hanson
"You ready?" Austin asked, twirling his car keys with his finger. I was leaving a note on the counter, letting my parents know that I would be gone until the following Sunday, but I was in good hands. I didn't say why, but I said that I needed to get away for a while. Making sure it didn't look like I was angry with them, because let's face it, I was practically fuming on the inside, I read it over in my head.
Mom and Dad,
I left this afternoon to go to Austin's house. I will be there for about a week, so please, don't worry about me. Michele will be there and I will be in good hands. I just need to get away from you guys for a little while. I'll explain later. See you guys next Sunday.
It was basically as good as it was going to get. There was no way I could be any nicer even if I tried. I was so mad at them for hiding the letter that words couldn't even begin to explain it. Yeah, they're my parents, but they had absolutely no right meddling in my personal life. My love life, to be more exact.
I let out a sigh of relief and dropped the pen down on the counter, looking up at Austin with a smile. "Yeah, I'm ready," I finally answered. I moved over to the kitchen table to pick up the bag that held all of the things I'd be needing for my stay at Austin's, but he beat me to it, picking it up and hanging it over his shoulder.
"Babe, I got it," I giggled, realizing how cute it was that he was taking my bag for me. But he was already doing more than enough for me by letting me stay at his house. That hadn't even crossed my mind when I planned on going somewhere. I figured I'd stay at Kim's for a few days and then maybe Alex's, but the fact that Austin was allowing me to stay the full week was the sweetest thing ever.
He gave me a look. "No, you don't. I got it." And with that, he took hold of my hand and dragged me to the front door of my house. I just rolled my eyes and laughed, but allowed him to do what he wanted. Whatever made him happy, I guess.
We were outside now and he opened the passenger side door for me- just another sweet thing that he does. I threw him a smile and a thank you, then I climbed into the seat. He was about to close the door when I stopped him. "Wait," I pressed.
He froze and his eyes met mine. I smirked and hopped out of the car quickly, resting my hands on the sides of his neck and pressing my lips to his quickly to show him my thanks. When I pulled back, he gave me a lopsided grin and then proceeded with putting my bag in the backseat. I got back into my seat while he closed the back door and then mine. I watched him as he walked around the front of the car, wondering how I'd gotten so lucky. I don't know what I ever did to deserve him, or maybe I didn't deserve him at all. But he was mine, and there was no way I was going to let him go again.
He opened his door and climbed inside. I kept my eyes on him, a soft smile on my lips. He put the keys in the ignition and started the car, glancing up at me quickly. His eyes came back to mine again when he realized I was looking at him.
"What?" He questioned, leaning back in his seat.
I shrugged, slowly leaning into him and bringing my hand to his shoulder. He slightly leaned into me too, his nose brushing mine lightly.
I want him so badly. I thought to myself.
I craved feeling his hands on me, his lips focused and powerful on mine, and his skin covering me. It was to the point where I didn't want it anymore, I needed it. I felt like if I didn't have it, I would literally die.
We didn't do anything last night for obvious reasons, being that the entire "letter" incident killed the mood.
I just didn't know how much longer I could wait.
