The Fault in our Dragons

chapter 2

(Hiccup's POV)

"uhhh, hi Astrid" I say awkwardly.

"hi hiccup" she replies.

no one else is here yet, nows my chance to ask her!

"um..Astrid?"

"yea?" she asks.

"well...would you-"

I get cut off when snotlout, the twins and fishlegs show up.

"hey are we gonna train or what?!" snotlout exclaims impatiently.

"yea.." I get on toothless and take off behind the others. Astrid fly's beside me.

"oh she's so pretty" I think to myself.

I'm daydreaming about her when someone interrupts me.

"hey wanna race?!" shouts Astrid

everyone agrees, so whoever gets to the cove last has to clean the first place person's dragon stall for a month.

its on.

we all take off and I'm in 2nd place, behind Astrid.

she turns around and gives me a "haha" look.

I snap out of my daze and race ahead past Astrid

toothless and i land at the cove first, Astrid second, snotlout third, the twins fourth, and fishlegs last.

"oh DANG IT!" fishlegs screams. "WE ALWAYS LOSE"

I let out a little laugh. "its okay fishlegs, you dont have to clean my stall" I say being nice.

he breathes a sigh of relief.

"so now what?" asks tuffnut

"well, I don't know about you, but I have to get home for dinner" says fishlegs.

"yea we should probably go too" says ruffnut.

"I'm right behind you beautiful!" exclaims snotlout. (he has a crush on ruff)

Astrid and I are alone. here's my chance!

"so..astrid, as i was saying before.." I start.

"yea hiccup?" she says.

(Astrid's POV)

"oh Thor what is he gonna say? is he going to ask me out? I wish he would! wait, what am I thinking?! do I actually like hiccup?" I thought.

"astrid, will you...uh.. go out with me?" hiccup says looking down.

"oh Thor what do I say?! I mean I want to...ughh why do I feel like this?" I think.

I take a breath, and reply...

"yes"
