IDENTIFY THE LIGHT SOURCE
The most important thing I have learnt through out my designing journey is to always decide where my light source is. In this the light source comes from behind my model, therefore it will cast a highlight around her silhouette.

HIGHLIGHT TOOL
To create the highlight I like to do it by hand, using a thick, full coloured brush. As suggested by the picture below. Then for the second part of this I will Force fade my brush. This will create a nice, slick transition from the end of my lines. Making it more realistic and will be hard to tell that it was drawn on.

ADDING THE HIGHLIGHT
Finally you must go around the areas you have identified to be Highlighted. With this you can make multiple layers with different opacity to suit your graphic. A layer for hair, face, body.

EDITING THE HIGHLIGHT
Now you've got your highlight down, you can't just leave it all block like. No, instead we go onto the effects menu and blur (only slightly) the layer with the highlight on using Gaussian Blur. Then edit the opacity of your highlight, whilst also deciding which blend you would like it to have. For Highlights I recommend the blend mode: 'Add' as it makes it even brighter then before.

FINISHING
With a few more extra details and filters your cover should be complete with its new highlighted extraordinaire. Hope you guys enjoyed, sorry if this comes off vague or confusing. Just comment down below if you need help x
P.s, my favourite part of this cover is the way I blended in the chest with the rest, it looks as thought it was already part of the background.
