Chapt.8 After All These Years...

The Next Morning...

Lucky, Katelyn, and Cloudy woke up well rested. "Ahh... That was a nice sleep" Lucky said as he stretched his arms. After Cloudy stretched "You better wake up your girlfriend now Lucky" as she snickered. "Cloudy. Just call her Cathy. I'm not comfortable with that term!" Lucky said irritated.

"Aww! Look at you! You're blushing!" Katelyn said teasingly. Cloudy giggled "You'll get used to it!" as she continued to giggle. Lucky rolled his eyes as he shook Cathy gently and saying "Wake up" in a calm way.

Cathy started to move then "10 more minutes..." she mumbled. "Come on, wake up. Were going to look for my brother. Besides, you have slept quite enough" he replied. Then Cathy sat up straight and said "Not really... I didn't sleep well.." as her eyelids were still closed.

"Oh... I guess let's give her a few minutes" Lucky said. Cathy hear this and immediately opened her said and replied "No no! We can go now!" as she stood up. "But you're tired" he explained. Cathy smiled at him and said "I'll be fine" as the three girls started to swim to North.

Lucky got worried for Cathy. Because she is tired and all and he knows no human and merman can perform properly if one is lack of sleep! So he just decided to keep on a look out for her AND his brother Paul. That's what the whole adventure was for anyways, finding their still crowned king brother, Paul.

On the way, Cathy distracted herself by talking with Katelyn and Cloudy, as Lucky stayed quiet as he was the one who led the three ladies. "So how was Paul growing up like?" Cathy asked.

"Well... He was very nice to all of us. He took care of us and love us deeply. He will die if it leads us to safety, Paul said that himself" Cloudy replied as Cathy was in awe. The Lucks smiled at that. But soon their smiles faded. Then Lucky spoke "Well... Its pretty much my fault why he disappeared. He went searching for us and if I hadn't stormed off... He'd still be there and none of us would get into this huge mess".

Katelyn comforted her older brother and said "It's okay bro... Everything happens for a reason" as she patted his back. "Well were going to make things right again, don't worry" Cloudy said as they continued to swim to north.

Along the way, Cathy did well! In fact, she wasn't droopy along the way! "Good..." Lucky thought. Hours passed, Cloudy complained "Brother... He's been gone for more than a month!! Don't you think he's already---"

Before she could finish her sentence, Lucky cut her off "No! I believe he's still out there Cloudy! Don't loose hope!". But Cloudy's patience already disappeared "YOU'RE THE BIG BROTHER!! DON'T YOU THINK WHAT WERE DOING IS CRAZY?! CAN'T YOU SEE?! HE'S GONE. LUCKY OPEN YOUR EYES" she yelled.

"Why won't you believe me?!" He yelled. "OH FOR LUCK'S SAKE BECAUSE HE'S GONE FOR MONTHS AND HASN'T RETURNED!".  Lucky clenched his fists. "I am your brother. Trust me, I know what I'm doing" as he continued to swim.

Cloudy wasn't satisfied with his answer, so she replied "WHY WON'T YOU BE JUST A KING?!". "I am being a King!! And I am finding Paul back for the kingdom! He's our brother Cloudy!!". Her sister couldn't take in anymore, so she shut her mouth and just carried on with their journey.

Hours Passed...

It was no luck for the group. No fragments or signs were found. The sun started to set once more, and the girls slowly lost hope in finding Paul. But Lucky stayed optimistic. He knew he will find his beloved brother. Because he has this feeling he's still alive.

"Lucky... We should head back" Cathy said, as Lucky refused to and continued to swim to north. Then... They heard sounds, it was a voice of a person. Since it was getting dark, Katelyn used her light stone to shine the path that was ahead of them.

"Hello?" Katelyn asked. As they drew closer, it revealed their brother with a man, that looks relatively like Lucky. "Cloudy! Katelyn! Lucky!" he yelled gleefully as he hugged his siblings. Paul grew a beard and looked a mess, but that doesn't make him any less of a caring person.

As they were hugging, Cathy saw a guy, who looks a bit similar with Lucky. After they hugged "Um... Paul? Who is that guy? He um.. Looks like Lucky, but not really Lucky". "Oh!" he said placing his palms onto his head.

"I forgot to introduce him to you guys!" as he continued "This is Jeremy! Lucky's fraternal twin!" he explained. Lucky's jaw dropped, as everyone did the same. "I? I have a twin brother?" Lucky said in disbelief. His brother nodded. "B-but how?" He stammered

Paul laughed and said "It's a story for another time, but I'm happy that we Luck siblings are reunited, with our lost brother!" as he gave his siblings another hug. Then Katelyn coughed falsely, grabbing the attention of everyone.

"Someone's gonna be a Luck soon" she said as Paul was shock. "Oh yeah! I forgot about Cathy! Hey um... Sorry I didn't accept you before... It's  just I'm protecting my siblings and my kingdom from dangerous humans, and I thought you were one of them!"

Cathy giggled and replied "It's okay! You're just playing your role as a big brother and a king after all!". Everyone there laughed happily. But then, the light stone Katelyn was holding lost its shine for a bit then turned back on.

But as it turned back on. Cathy's gone...
