"Another unproductive ball," I muttered as I pulled the ten pins from my waist length black hair.

"Come now, when has any ball been productive?" He asked as he shut the door to my room behind him.

If he were to be caught at this hour, I can imagine the guards having a fit.

"Remember the queen's ball last month?" I winked. "The uprising of my human sister as I pulled her prince away?"

Gabriel chuckled. "You're the queen's daughter, Lonny. Or should I say Princess Sophie Hélène Beatrix."

I groaned. "Please, never again will you utter that name to me. It is disastrous enough that my human life's mother and father called her that."

Gabriel walked to the large windows of my quarters and closed the heavy curtains. "Princess in both this world and another. This life has rewarded you."

*France 1792*

"Rewarded me?" I snorted. A very unladylike like thing for a princess to do. "Please. They might as well hang me."

"They might just." He chuckled. "You should be careful what you say, just because you are the daughter of the king, it doesn't mean he won't hesitate to hang you."

"He wouldn't. I have too much of an influence in his life, he loves me as well as my sister."

Gabriel unbuttoned his jacket and shrugged it off. "You didn't mention the queen."

I shrugged. "She doesn't love me."

He laughed a little. "Your guard is coming."

I turned to the knock in the door and yell for him to come in.

"Do you need anything, Miss?" He asks me.

"That'll be all, goodnight. I won't need anything else for the night so no one must disturb me. Not unless it's something of grave importance, am I clear?"

"Very clear, Miss. Goodnight." With a bow he walked out.

After locking the door, I felt Gabriel's hands at the back of my dress, undoing it without any permission from me what so ever.

"What do you think you're doing?" Although I tried to put on a grave voice, I could slowly feel the smile curving my lips upward.

"Helping you undress," He replied simply in a voice that dripped with lust.

"Gabriel..." I wanted to protest, to stop him but as soon as the heavy ballroom dress dropped to the ground, he turned me and yanked my body against his; all rational thought had fled from my mind. I noticed now that he was left in his dress pants and nothing else.

"Yes?" His lips pressed to my collarbone and I sighed in content.

"I don't think-"

"Then don't," He mumbled, backing us both to the edge of the bed.

I pressed my palms to his naked chest, my heart suddenly speeding way past its natural capacity. "This is forbidden of me, Gabriel. We've never..."

"I know." He looked me dead in the eye; his blue eyes reflecting his excitement at doing something we both knew was illegal for my human life and invigoratingly new. "I'd never dare to take away your innocence without your permission, of course."

My cheeks flushed with heat.

My innocence of both this life and my human life. Being what I am for over three thousand years, I hadn't had this need. I didn't know what it was until Gabriel came into my life. The need to have him near me. The need to touch him, kiss him, to just have some form of contact with him. And this new need burning like an inferno in the pit of my stomach.
