A Gentle Beckoning
Two eyes a new moon
within them you perceive your reflection
as you gaze from the frothy brim
water like tendrils persuade you
a being speaks, like an echo
'Come nearer down this fraying path
this journey, old friend, will leave you cold
kiss this silence in the deepest bath
lest you beget more time, if ever you were so bold'
