#20. Happily Ever After?

Niko stared at Brian for a few more seconds, a silent threat sent to Brian, who just cocked an eyebrow, waiting for Niko to try something, but instead he gave t7">"And as for you Brian, I only have one request" he looked at Bri, a fire in his eyes, "I'm giving you my princess for you to protect and keep safe. Of course, you'll make her happy, but keep her safe from people who will try to use her to get to you" he finished

Brian could see the seriousness in Niko's and Mmapula's eyes, and he didn't need to say much, just a nod was all that was conveyed. It was a silent deal that was done between both Brian and Mona's parents

Pac cleared his throat, getting the ceremony back into action. He called on Mona's grandfather, who didn't really say much, but agree with Niko for the first time ever, that Brian should always keep Mona safe and happy

Once everyone on Mona's side had spoken, it was Brian's people's turn to say a few words, before the party could commence

Brian's brothers thanked Mona and her family for allowing Mona to marry into their family. Explaining how Brian wasn't as bad as they made him out to be, and giving a bit of insight on the kind of man Brian was to them

Pac also spoke a bit, giving Mona some advice on how to handle Brian when he's in one of his moods, and to always put him in his place when he gets out of hand. The last statement had Brian throwing a spoon at Pac, who ducked it chuckling, but it was all done with love

It looked as though, everyone said what they needed to say, and the party could start, that was until an elderly woman with jet black hair, a small frame and a youthful face walked up to the makeshift stage

Pac looked shocked to see her there, he hadn't seen her since he was a teen and that was over ten years ago

She smiled up at Pac, kissing his cheek, then taking the mic from him, "Hi everybody" she greeted, a big smile on her face

The minute Brian heard her voice, he stopped the conversation he was having with Brandon, who had walked up to their table to joke around with Brian, and even he looked up to watch as the woman waved at the people in the reception

"Uhm, a lot of you don't know me, and knowing how my relationship with my son is like, I'm probably not a topic he likes to discuss" she turned to look at a very confused Brian. He didn't even think that she would make it, hell he didn't remember putting her on the list of people who should get an invitation to this shindig

Brian wasn't the only one who was surprised to see Brianna at the wedding reception, Byron nearly choked on his drink, while Brandon was left gob smacked

"I'm Brianna Williams for those who are wondering who I am" her soft spoken voice was heard over the speakers, "Brian's mother" she said this facing the crowd, then back at Brian

Brian frowned, about ready to end this charade, but Brandon pushed him down, seeing as his hand was on Brian's shoulder the whole time, "Let her finish" he whispered to Brian, who looked up at his little brother, pissed that this shit was happening today

After so many years of his mother not wanting anything to do with Brian, she pops up on the most important day of his life? He didn't like whatever it was she was trying to pull

Don't get it twisted, he loved his mum, but after countless of time trying to repair a relationship that he didn't destroy, he'd made peace with the fact that his Brianna only cared for his money and nothing else
