"Am I in trouble?" Jamie asked quietly as she followed Professor McGonagall down the corridor.

"Professor Dumbledore will explain everything," was the witches' reply. They arrived at a large statue of an extremely ugly stone gargoyle.

"Lemon drop!" McGonagall exclaimed. The gargoyle moved as a staircase appeared. They climbed up to an old wood door and McGonagall knocked.

"Come in," Came a soft voice. The door opened, and Jamie entered the large office right behind her professor.

She had been in Dumbledore's office many times. The most memorable times was her first time when she had helped Harry defeat Professor Quirrell in their first year and in their second year when Jamie had helped Harry in the Chamber of Secrets.

"Ah, thank you Minevera, that will be all."

Professor McGonagall nodded and left the office, closing the door behind her.

"Come Jamie, have a seat." Professor Dumbledore motioned to the seat in front of his desk. Jamie took her sat down, glancing at Professor Lupin who sat in the chair beside her.

"Am I in trouble?" Jamie repeated.

"Not at all, Professor Lupin and I simply felt it was time some of your questions were answered," Dumbledore explained.

"Are you referring to me asking Professor Lupin why he's been starring at me like a creepy pedophile?"

"I'm not a pedophile!" Lupin said hastily, but Dumbledore held up his hand, signaling for the professor to stop.

"Miss Black, you are aware that you are adopted, yes?"

"Yes Sir."

"Are you also aware, that you have a Godfather?"

Jamie shook her head. All she knew of her past was that her mother was dead, and her father was in prison for murder and for working with the Dark Lord. No one ever bothered to tell her more.

"Jamie," Lupin said quietly. "I am your godfather."

"Well... I wasn't expecting that," Jamie whispered making the two men chuckle.

"I was good friends with your parents for many years, we actually all went to Hogwarts together."

"My parents went to Hogwarts?" Jamie asked amazed.

Professor Lupin nodded, "Haven't you been told anything about them?"

"No."

Lupin and Dumbledore exchanged glances. Clearly, having a silent conversation.

"Miss Black, what do you know about your past?"

"That my father worked for the Dark Lord and murdered a bunch of muggles and that the Dark Lord killed my mother."

"That's it?"

"Yes sir," Jamie stated.

"You must a have a lot of questions then," Lupin added.

"You have no idea," Jamie whispered.

Lupin smiled, "Then ask away."

Jamie raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You sure? We could be here a while."

"I have all the time in the world for you."

"I, on the other hand, actually have another meeting to attend to. Perhaps, you two could continue this conversation in Professor Lupin's office?" Dumbledore suggested.

"Now, what's your first question?" Lupin asked as the two sat down in his office.

Jamie looked at the man for a moment. "If you're my godfather, then why have I never met you?"
