"Phillip! Help me! Phillip!!" Anne's helpless voice called him from the back of the theatre. Phillip tried to push his way through the burning debris, only to be pushed back a small explosion. Anne's screaming grew fainter as Phillip's eyes began to close. The smoke was taking over his lungs. Suddenly Anne appeared in front of him, blocked by a fallen beam. Then she collapsed.
Phillip woke with a start, panting and sweating. He took a few deep breaths when he realised it was only a dream. He turned to face Anne, who was sleeping peacefully beside him. Her curls were tossed all over the place, her caramel skin smooth and soft. Phillip wrapped his arm around her waist and buried his head in the crook of her neck. Anne's hands instinctive made their way to Phillips hair. Her fingers ran through his hair. Phillip relaxed in her arms and pulled her closer to him.
"Do you love me?" Anne's fingers ceased their movement. She stared at him incredulously.
"Of course I love you. What makes you think I don't?"
"I don't know. I'm just worried." Phillip pecked her lips, afraid she was going to question him further.
"What was the nightmare about tonight?"
"Well, I was trying to save you from the fire again. And... and I... I couldn't." Tears fell down his cheeks silently.
"Oh Phillip. I'm here. I'm always here. I will never leave you. I promise. I love you."
