(Leah point of view)

"Hmmm where could it be?"

I walk up and down the isle of the book store looking for a research book that I need for my college class. Everything looked to be in order but I just can't seem to find the book. Giving up I walk over toward the kid section and get my favorite book, Peter Rabbit. My fingers linger on each page. memories come flooding back from reading every sentence and looking at each pictures. My lips move in synch with each word that are on the page. I  get interrupted in my reading when I hear someone clear their throat behind me. When I turn around I see a man leaning against the book shelf smiling at me.He looks to be 6'2 and I am only 5'0. If I were to stand up next to him he would tower over me.

"What are you looking at princess?"

I roll my eyes closing the book shut and put it back.

"I'm not your princess."

When I stand up to leave I notice him mumble something under his breath but it is not important. Leaving the book store I didn't realize how late I stayed because it is already night out and I have to walk home. I should have brought my bike. I hate walking home at night because I can get paranoid about situations that can happen since I am so tiny.

"You alright?"

I turn around and see the same man from the store smiling at me.

"Yes i am f-fine. What do y-you want?"

He smiled gently and held something out.

"You seemed to have dropped your wallet in the store."

I slowly take it and look down at the ground. This is a problem with me I always try to act mean and strong but on the inside i am scared and shy.

"I'm Liam by the way."

He is holding his hand out for me to shake. I just hold my bag tighter looking at him up and down. He could really break me in half if he wanted to. He started to notice that I was going to walk home by myself and a worried expression was on his face.

"If it is alright can I walk with you?"

I nodded and began walking with him. I know walking home with a stranger is not a smart move but something felt different about him.

"I'm sorry about earlier in the book store. I try to act all cool and confident but it usually makes me end up looking like a complete dick."

I laugh at his words and smile a little bit.

"So she can laugh huh?"

I roll my eyes for the second time today meeting this person. When the conversation stops we walk in silence. I realize though that I never told him my name.

"I'm Leah."

"I know."

I raise my eyebrow slightly at him causing him to wave his hands in front of him.

"I know from your wallet. Not stalking you I swear."

We both stop at my building and I look up at him.

"Aren't you going to go home?"

"Leah I live here too."

Wait what? I look at him for longer and try to recognize him but I can't.

"My brother and I  just moved here from Colorado for college."

"You have a brother?"

Liam nodded rocking back and forth on his heels.
