I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, applying some mascara to make my eye lashes look longer and dark. I felt nervous just starring at my reflection.
Walking over to my closet, I threw my hair into a messy bun at the top of my head. I have 15 minutes to get changed before he will be here. Scanning over the long line of clothes, I picked out a pair of stripped white and blue shorts and a plain blue shirt. Throwing on my white vans, I grab my phone and head out the door, locking it behind me.
"Oh my god Vika wait for me!" I heard a deep voice yell from the other end of the hall. I already knew exactly who is was. I stopped in my tracks, turning around to see Tanner running towards me with a huge smile spread across his face. I couldn't help but to smile to. Tanner is my closest guy friend.
"Hi Tanner Bananer! Where ya' heading?" I asked him once he reached me, crushing me in a bear hug. His quiffed light brown hair tickled my face as I squeezed him the hardest I could back.
"I'm just going to meet up with the guys. Where are you going?" He told me, furrowing his eyebrows together as we continue down the hall to the elevator.
"Just going to meet up with a friend." I smiled slightly, looking up at him. Tanner has been my friend ever since year one of primary school.
"Just a friend, huh?" He said, flashing a half smirk my way.
I just laughed and rolled my eyes, pressing the down arrow for the elevator. The door immediately opened, giving us access to enter the empty lift.
My phone dinged and I was quick to pull it out of my pocket to see who it was.
I'm waiting outside the building. Come down when your ready. (: x
I couldn't help the smile on my face once I read the text. I was about to reply when my phone was ripped quickly out of my hands.
Tanner! What the fuck are you doing? Give me my phone!" I said, reaching for my phone that he held above his head to where I couldn't reach.
"Getting a little defensive, aren't we?" He smirked. "Oh, so your going to meet up with your boyfriend, huh?" He chuckled, swinging my phone around in his hands.
"He's not my boyfriend." I mumbled, my cheeks flushing a bright red.
"I can so tell." He winked. "If he brakes your heart or does anything wrong, I'm going to beat his ass. Just remember that." He said, handing me back my phone and pinching my cheeks.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." I mumbled as the doors opened.
"Well, I'll see you later. Text or call me whenever!" We exchanged a hug and walked off our separate ways.
I slowly walked out of the building into the hot summer heat. Niall was leaning against his black Cadillac, starring at the pavement below his feet. He lifted his head slowly, a smile covering his face when he saw me. I fidget with the bracelet on my wrist and sped up my pace to reach him.
"Hello darling! You ready to go?" He asked while giving me a tight hug. The way he says darling sent shivers down my spine.
Oh course, I hugged him back. "Yeah I'm ready whenever you are." Looking straight into his ocean blue eyes, i feel like I'm going to melt.
Releasing me from his grip, he turns around to open the passenger side door.
"Thank you." Climbing in the seat, I watch him jog around the front of the car to the driver side.
"Where are we going?" I asked as he started the engine.
"I was thinking we could go to the Gallery Café, but we can go somewhere else if you'd like." He glanced at me with a half smile while making a left turn.
"Yeah that's fine. I don't think I've been there before." Resting my head on the window, I starred at the cars in front of us that are going really slow. Niall didn't hesitate to change lanes and pass him, getting in the left lane again.
"I'm sure you'll like it." He laughed, starring at the road ahead of him.
I couldn't help starring at him. He wore a white shirt with green sleeves and skinny jeans. His hair is styled perfectly into a quiff. His face is concentrated on the road ahead as he hums lightly to a song playing quietly through the radio.
After a few more turns, he pulled into the parking lot of a small building. He turned the car off, both of us climbing out. I slowly walked to the front of the car, waiting for him to lock it and start walking to where I was.
We passed an old couple sitting outside the building on a bench. I sent a warm smile their way, receiving one from them.
Niall held the door open for me, a cool breeze washing over my body. People sat at the small cream tables talking quietly to one another, eating their sandwiches and sweets. Some people started at us and whispered to each other, pointing at us. I'm sure most of them probably recognize Niall since most the people seem to be in their early 20's.
He lightly grasped my wrist, butterflies forming in my stomach. Chuckling, he pulled me behind him towards a table in the corner of the little café. Right after we sat down, a girl around seventeen years old came up to the table and took our orders.
"So Victoria, tell me about yourself." He took a sip of drink and starred at me, waiting for my reply.
"Um, what exactly would you like to know?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Anything." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, I like to play tennis and dance when ever I can. My music taste goes from A$AP to obviously, One Direction. I hate mustard and stuck-up girls." Laughing, I took a sip of my drink.
"How come you have an American accent if you live here?" He questioned.
"My dad is American and my mum is British. I was actually born in California and moved to Cambridge, England in my first year of primary school. It's a long story." I laughed but it came out more as a sigh.
The lady came back with our sandwiches and we automatically started digging into our food.
We continued small talk, us asking each other questions about the others life.
"Are you ready to go, love?" He gave me one of his killer smiles.
"Yeah." I said standing up from the chair as he did the same. I pulled some money out of my back pocket to pay for my mean and say it on the table.
"No Vicky. I'm paying." Niall laughed, picking my money up off the table trying to hand it back to me.
"No I insist. You should have to pay for my meal." Pushing his hand back that held the money towards him. He just shook his head and sighed.
I started to put my phone away in my pocket when I felt a hand on my hip, pulling me closer. I gasped realizing that it's Niall's hand. My eyes went wide like a little kid's on Christmas when they get the thing they wanted the most.
"Take your money back, please. I want to pay for you." He whispered to where only I could hear.
Niall opened my closed hand, placing the money in my palm and slowly closing my hand tightly together again to make sure it didn't fall out. I just stare at him as he does all of this.
"Are you guys done?" The waiter asked us, causing me to jump at her sudden loud voice.
"Yeah we are, thanks" Niall said, pulling money out of him pocket.
Being the stubborn person I am, I placed my money in the girls hand before Niall could protest. He gave me a playful glare and handed the lady the money for his meal. She walked off shortly after mumbling 'have a great day'.
"Should I start getting use to your stubbornness?" Niall asked jokingly. I nudged him in the shoulder, nodding my head up and down.
We walked out the doors of the café and Niall was quick to pull me the opposite way the car is. I gave him a confused glance.
"Let's go for a walk, yeah?" He suggested.
"Sure." I laughed, walking right next to him along the sidewalk.
