Chapter 26

“Okay what about this?” Grace asked, walking over to my bed laying down a few pieces of clothing. Sighing, I stood up from the chair I had in the corner of my room and walked over to my bed with my hands on my hips to assess what she had picked out.

We had been at this for about a half hour trying to figure out what I would wear on my date tonight with Ashton. I was nervous, to say the least, and Grace had told me what I wear to the first date made the biggest impression.

I didn’t totally agree with that since he’s seen me in sweatpants and no makeup but I went along with it.

“I like the jeans and the shoes but the top has to go.” I said. She had picked out a god awful blue long-sleeved top that I’ve had since I started high school. It was starting to pill and look worn out; there was no way I’d ever wear that out.

Grace sighed and plopped onto my bed in frustration, “Fine! I give up this is impossible, you pick out our outfit.”

I took the shirt from her hands and threw it into my laundry basket so I knew to throw it out when I got the chance. After, I searched though my closest to find a ruby red tank top, “What about this?” I asked her holding the tank top up for her to see.

“It could work,” she said pursing her lips, “but it’s December and cold as hell outside.”

“True, but…” I said pulling out a leather jacket from the back of my closet, “what if I put this over it? Then I can use those dark denim jeans.

Grace stood up and took the clothes from my hands and evaluated them. “I think it’ll look hot.” She said with a smirk. “Go put it on.” She said excitedly.

Rolling my eyes laughing I strolled into the bathroom and changed quickly. I put the tank top over my head and put the jacket over to complete the look. The tank top’s straps were about two fingers wide and had a scoop neck to complement it. The jacket hugged me in the right places making my body slimmer looking and my jeans complimented my long legs.

“How does it look?” I asked. Grace dropped the magazine she was looking at and a devilish smile formed on her lips.

“You look sexy. I don’t think Ashton will be able to keep his hands off of you.”

Blushing I put some hair behind my ear and looked down at my feet. “I need shoes.”

Grace walked over my closet and picked up a pair of black flats on the floor. “How about these?”

I took them from her hands and slid my feet into them, “Okay yeah this looks good. Now I just need to do my make up.”

“Correction, I need to do your makeup.” Grace said. “Sit on the toilet lid.”

Giving her a small glare I did as I was told and let her poke and prod my face with different brushes and applicators. After about fifteen minutes I was done.

“There,” she said, “all done. Go look and see if you like it.”

As I got up and looked in the mirror, I was a little shocked. I didn’t know I could look so pretty. “Aw Grace, this is perfect.” I said and gave her a hug.

I had a touch of gold eye shadow on my eyelid and some brown in the crease to give me some definition. A small line of black eyeliner was lined against my top lash line and brought out into a small wing. My eyelashes were curled and looked full and long, while my cheeks had a pink. To finish it off I had a nude lip with a bit of gloss.
