Chapter Ten

Ariella(Jamie)’s POV

Thomas and the waitress from the pizza parlor ended up talking. In fact, they’d already been on a date. However, lately he wasn’t meeting up with her as often because we needed to focus on the plan.

Three weeks passed dangerously quickly. It was now the day of the concert and I was nervously shaking as I tried to get dressed. Wade was still acting very hesitant around me and he absolutely wouldn’t crack. I couldn’t get him to tell me what was wrong. That was also a big part of why I was nervous. What if he thought our plan couldn’t work? Is that why he was acting so abnormally?

My hands shook furiously as I put on the long-sleeved, sparkling black dress. It sort of reminded me of the dress that I wore a long time ago when I went out with Gemma and the boys. I remembered how I cried in the bathroom because I thought Niall hated it. I laughed quietly to myself. I missed those days so much.

I put on some black tights underneath and wore some silver heels. I put on some red lipstick and analyzed myself in the mirror. The engagement ring on my hand was very noticeable. I smiled at myself.

My black dyed hair was untamed as it fell in loose waves all around my head. I brushed through the tangled mess and it looked a bit better. I put on some mascara and did a smoky eye shadow to bring out my green eyes.

If Niall didn’t notice me, then I would lose all hope. I looked more like myself and I liked it. Although Jamie was quite the rebel, I just liked being my shy self.

Wade knocked on the bathroom door.

“Are you ready, Ariella?” He asked.

“Yes!” I shouted.

I opened the door and came face to face with Wade. He looked at me and smiled.

“He’ll definitely recognize you.”

“I hope so,” I said.

I found a note on the coffee table that said “Good luck. – Emory”.

I smiled and linked my right arm with Wade’s left and we followed Thomas out the door.

We got into a black SUV instead of Thomas’ white jeep. Wade and I sat in the back while Thomas drove.

“Why are we using a different car?” I asked.

“So the FBI won’t know we’re gone. If we used the car that Thomas drives, they would definitely suspect something. Plus his has a tracking device installed in the bottom,” Wade said.

“How do you know that?” I asked.

“I found it this morning when I looked at it. It sounds like someone is definitely expecting us to be going somewhere. We just rented this car,” Wade said.
