He Saved Me

Prologue

My names Mary. I come from a small town. My life sucks. My family is extremely poor. My mom works at a grocery store while my dad just stays home. All he does is drink and do drugs. I try to stop and help him but it is no use. He is also abusive. He abuses me and my mom for the smallest things. That's why I have a lot of cuts and bruises on my legs, arms and face.

My junior year is staring soon and I really wish I didn't have to go. I was positive I would end up just like my parents so why even try. I won't even have enough money to go to a good college. Truth is I am smart. I am a straight "A" student. I attend pretty much all math contests and spelling bees. I want to become a Nurse or a Doctor. Either one would work.

My love life is simple. I have a crush on my best friend Eric. Although, I do not think he likes me back. He says he is in love with some girl but who knows it could be me. I've never had a boyfriend.
Im not really interested in having one. I just think it's a waste of time and that they never last.

I have a group that I hang out with at school and out of school. I've been hanging with them since 6th grade. Their names are Bridget, Ivy, Miranda and Hayley. I trust them all. We all help each other with our problems. They always tell me to leave my house because of my Dad but I could and would never do that.

But I know if I don't I will never get to live my dream.
