I desperately hoped they liked me, especially after the little incident with the gadget thing. I will be working with them for who knows how long, so I can't have it being awkward all the time, then we would get no work done. Plus, they all seem like nice people, well some do. They all just stared at me for a minute just taking in what I said before. Well I guess that's what I'd call it, I mean I never get hurt and when I do, my body heals it. They just kept staring until they realised it was getting awkward and it was kind of rude.
"So, you can heal yourself, even If you have like a broken arm of leg?" Asked the one I remembered to be Hawkeye, looking very interested in the answer. Honestly, I don't even know that much about my gift other than it protects me from getting really injured. But, I definitely know I can heal a broken wrist because what happened yesterday with the car crash.
"I guess, yesterday I was in a car accident, the driver's side got hit and we flipped off the road at about 70mph or so. I'm pretty sure I broke my wrist and shattered my shins but when I woke up there wasn't a scratch on me, no bruises... nothing. That's when Director Fury came, and I guess that's why I'm here?" I said, making the last part sound like a question. I was still unsure why I was here and how I could benefit the group. They all just looked at me in shock. I think they were mostly shocked about the thing in a car accident yesterday or maybe the details about my injuries.
"Really?" Romanoff squinted and slightly chuckled, as if to say she didn't believe me. I could understand where she was coming from, but Fury wouldn't just bring a random person onto the Helicarrier. I knew they weren't going to believe me unless I showed them. I looked around the room for a sharp object, luckily, in the corner of the room, there was a small desk with a pair of scissors on. I walked over to the desk and picked up the scissors and walked back over to the group. At first, they seemed confused but then understood where I was going with this the idea.
"You can't be serious!" Said Steve in a loud voice. I looked over to him and gave him the 'trust me' look, although I didn't know I could trust myself as I have never tried this before. I just guessed I could do it. I moved the scissors to my wrist and make a big slit, bigger than I intended. I gasped in pain for a brief second before the pain began to fade. I looked down at my wrist to see the slit had vanished. All the avengers looked at me in shock, including Romanoff.
"How is that possible?" Bruce asked. I knew he was a scientist, so he would be interested in this stuff, but to be completely honest I didn't really know for myself. It probably had something to do with my blood and maybe how it was able to heal me, but no one, not even the doctors knew for sure.
"I have every single blood type in my blood stream. And before you ask, I don't know how, I just know that it's impossible. Actually, Dr Banner, I'm a huge fan of your work as a physicist and I understand that this isn't really your field, but I'm hoping you'll help me understand it." At first, he looked taken back but then smiled and nodded. I really did need help, you can't live a life you don't understand, and that's exactly what I was doing. If anyone could help me it was him.
They all engaged in conversation and laughter. Everyone except Loki. He just sat there looking at me like he was looking into my soul and searching through every memory I have ever had. I suddenly began to worry, for reasons I don't understand, I just felt like I was being exposed for who I truly was in a second.
"Who's Lauren?"
