We're The Stars

Lucy strutted towards Gray and the brown-haired girl, feeling determined. She had left Juvia with her team, before deciding to confront the ice-make wizard.

"Yo, Gray! We need to talk, now..." Lucy said seriously, her eyes narrowing at the pair. Gray was about to object until he saw her deadly expression. He nodded quickly and told the girl goodbye.

"What is it, Lucy?" He questioned, crossing his arms. She glared at him for a second, before shaking her head.

"Who the hell was that?" She inquired, her eyes burning holes into him.

"Her name's Hinata...Hinata Suzuka..." He explained.

"I wasn't asking for the bitch's name, Gray. I was asking WHO she is to you?" Lucy stared icily at him, waiting for his reply. Gray bristled at Lucy calling Hinata a bitch.

"I...I really like her, Lucy! I think she's the one..." He said, blushing slightly.

"Oh, hell no! What about Juvia?"

Gray scowled at her name and shrugged.

"What about her?"

"I don't love her, Lucy...she's creepy-" Gray was cut off by a hard punch to the face.

He flew backward, and hit a wall, causing a dent. He dabbed away some crimson blood from his lip and glared at Lucy with anger.

"What the hell was that for?!"

"How dare you treat Juvia like trash! She loves you! I have no idea why, because you clearly don't deserve her...but she loves you!" Lucy shouted.

"I...I don't care if you love someone else...I know all too well how it feels to have the person you love treat you like garbage, and choose another girl over you..."

"And I won't let you do that to Juvia..."

Gray sat in silence, thinking about what she was saying. Juvia WAS beautiful. And kind...and adorable...He shook his head and tried to think about Hinata instead. Hinata was cute, sure...but she wasn't as unique, or anywhere near as kind as Juvia...she was also as dumb as a box of rocks.

"Please, Gray...Please give Juvia a chance. She deserves a chance, at the very least. And if you say no...well, I'll make sure you regret it..." She threatened, raising a fist. He looked at her for a second before sighing.

"Lucy...just stay out of it..." He muttered, before walking off. Lucy growled in annoyance, and stuck her middle finger up at him, even though he couldn't see her.

'He was...was...such a jerk!'

"I'm sorry, Juvia..." She whispered, sadly.

It was late, and Juvia, Lucy, and Gray were missing from the hotel. Juvia was sitting beside the water, her expression downhearted. Lucy had told her what happened, and she was feeling tired. Tired of feeling unwanted, and tired of loving Gray wholeheartedly. He...he obviously didn't care about her...

"Juvia can't believe how dumb she is..." Juvia whispered to herself, playing with the ends of her wavy cerulean locks. She laid down flat on the sandy beach and closed her eyes. In this one moment, she felt completely numb. She felt like a water droplet, peacefully making its way through the waves.

She opened her eyes and looked at the glistening stars in the sky. She had never really taken time to just look at them...and she was amazed at how beautiful they truly were. Lucy had talked about how nice it was to just relax and star gaze, but Juvia never thought she'd enjoy it this much.

"...Juvia..." Juvia's eyes flickered over to the body walking towards her. She recognized that voice, and it was the last person she wanted to see right now.

"Oh...hi, Gray," She said plainly, finding satisfaction in how Gray cringed when she didn't use the honorific.

"Look, Juvia...I just...need to tell you something important. I was talking to Lucy...and she made me realize something," he said, sitting beside her. Juvia sat up and looked at him curiously.

'Was he just going to turn Juvia down?'

"What is it?" She asked.

"Juvia...." He started his face flushing in color.

"I...I really like you...a lot," He forced out, trying not to become flustered. He failed, and even in the darkness, Juvia noticed the dust of pink on his cheeks.

Juvia stared wide-eyed at Gray and didn't know how to respond. Part of her was jumping for joy, and another part wanted her to reject him. She had dreamed of this moment, for such a long time, that she felt shell-shocked that it was actually happening.

Gray stared at Juvia, watching her process his words. He noticed how stunning she looked. It was a full moon, so the bright glare of the moon lit up her face. Her hair seemed iridescent under the glow of the night.

"Gray-sama...Juvia...Juvia loves you too!" Juvia exclaimed suddenly, throwing her arms around the smiling ice wizard.

From a little bit away, hidden behind a tree, Lucy smiled. She was happy that Juvia had gotten the one she loved. Where Lucy failed, Juvia had succeeded.

Lucy started walking aimlessly down the streets, no clear destination in sight. She just felt like being alone...

"Blondie? What are you doing out this late...?" Sting asked, approaching her.

"I could ask you the same thing..." She started but paused when she saw bandages wrapped around Sting's arms and torso.

"What happened?!" She asked worriedly, activating her healing magic.

He chuckled nervously and snorted.

"Don't worry about it, Blondie..."

"It was your guild master again, wasn't it?" She inquired softly. He nodded, noticing the cold frown painted on her face.

"Yeah...he was mad that we're not in first place...he says if we don't turn things around tomorrow, he's going to kick us out..."

Lucy's frown deepens, and she pulls her hands away from his torso, satisfied with her work.

"I hate your guild master...he's horrible. Why don't you four just join Fairy Tail? We could be on a team, just like you wanted. It could be, Rogue, you, Lector, Frosch, Laxus, Happy, and me. We'd be a pretty badass team!"

"We would be a pretty great team, wouldn't we? But, be in the same guild as Natsu?! I'd probably end up killing the bastard..." Sting grumbled.

"Plus, I promised you, that we'd get you to join Sabertooth!"

"But, Sting..." She protested, but he just wagged a finger in her face.

"Come on, blondie. Don't be such a downer! Let's go eat something, I'm starving!"

He started dragging her around, grinning that stupid, ignorant grin of his. But, she couldn't help but smile right back.
