Brynn's POV:

"I talked to Auston while we were in Toronto." I heard Alec say as I drove us back to my house.

"Why?" I rebuttaled with a scrunched up face.

He chuckled at my reaction. "He just wanted to know how everything was going with Ryan and Elle."

I nodded. "That's good. Everything is good here."

He nodded while grabbing my hand and keeping another one firmly on the steering wheel. "He also asked how you were doing?"

I tended up. "He-he asked about me?"

Alec nodded. "Yeah. I talked to Freddie a little bit after the game and he told me that Auston has been really focusing on his game and hasn't really spent time with anyone."

I nodded. "Well no matter how good you are there is always room for improvement right?"

He nodded and continued to drive. The only sound was the radio faintly playing music. I turned my head and looked out the window. When we got to my house, he left to go home and unpack. I walked inside and saw Ryan and Elle.

"Freddie told me the Alec talked to Auston." I nodded at what he said.

"I'm glad everyone knew before I did. Where's my phone?" he pulled it off the charger and handed it to me.

I told him that I was stepping outside to make a call and closed the door behind myself. I opened my phone and pressed call.

"Hello?"

"So you talked to Alec?"

"Brynn, I'm sorry if that made you upset."

"No Auston. It didn't make me upset it just...I don't know surprised me I guess. You always surprise me." I said with a small smile.

"I know I do." He said and I could tell he was smiling.

"Why?" I asked curiously.

He sighed clearly frustrated. "Because I miss you. I miss you so fucking much," I let out a shaky sigh. "I know I fucked up but god I can't get you or Elle out of my mind. I just can't."

I nodded and wiped a stray tear off my cheek. Truth is I missed him too. But I wasn't sure I was ready to tell him that. "I have to go Auston."

He sighed into the phone. "Bye Brynn."

He hung up before I had a chance to reply. I said quietly to myself 'I love you'.
