"you're not talking to me."
harry doesn't reply, face grim, tongue poking out to the taste the ice cream that he'd so desperately missed out on. his green eyes, his beautiful eyes which isha's completely head over heels in love with, are hidden, staring at the grass, ring clad fingers toying around with the dying leaves.
"why did you follow zayn here?"
"zayn's been buying ice cream from us for years, and he's never once bought mint choco chip. besides, i had no other choice," isha says, helpless, trying to get harry to talk to her, tell her what's wrong, but to no avail, "i miss you, harry."
"no choice now," harry says, eyeing her from the corner or his eyes — her yellow sweater, brown eyes, large glasses, dirty apron still around her neck, "but you had one then."
"why are you being so cryptic? shakespearan english i can understand, but not your subtle hints. please, just tell me what i did wrong."
"it doesn't matter."
only it does matter, but isha doesn't like pushing people. she's never been much of a pusher, but more of a coaxer. harry, however, looks way past the point of coaxing, his warm eyes as cold as his ice cream, fingers as tight as his walls, lips in a thin line. isha doesn't know what to do, but she knows that if it's meant to be, he'll come around, so she doesn't say anything after, just leans her back against the tree, eyes fluttering closed, breaths coming out slow.
"you know i lied when i said i would hide all the mint choco chip, right? i wouldn't do that you."
"are you sure? because there's a lot of things that that you say you wouldn't do but still might've done already."
"harry—"
"i have to go," harry murmurs, looking away, trying to get up, but instead tumbling instead. his ice cream topples off his cone, falling onto the drying, dead grass, seeping into the earth, the green contrasting against the brown like harry's eyes against his hair.
"you just dropped mint choco chip."
"and you dropped me."
