Chapter 3
meeting

THE next day, I went out early for work. I'm determined to work as hard as I can, without excuses. Hindi ako pwede mawalan ng trabaho.

I work for a real estate company as a sales agent pero mababa pa ang sales ko. I sighed as I sat on my table. I have one buyer but it's so hard to talk to them dahil pabago bago sila ng isip.

I have a month para tumaas ang sales ko. If not, mawawalan ako ng trabaho and back to square one nanaman ako. It was so hard for me to find a job and now that I'm working for a big company, I should treasure it.

Besides, I knew I needed a raise. I'm paying for Dane's tuition and also supplying the needs of my family. Ako rin ang nagbabayad ng mga expenses namin sa bahay. I barely had my money spent on the things that I want.

"Denisse."

I turned around and saw my boss behind me. May hawak siyang folder habang nakatingin sakin. I stood up kaagad to greet him.

"Good morning po," I bowed.

"I have a proposal for you regarding your sales. Sumunod ka sakin at mag-uusap tayo."

I immediately stood up and trailed behind him. Kahit matagal na ako sa company, my boss and I never really had a personal conversation or such. He's cold towards me pati na rin sa iba but mostly sakin because I'm way behind when it comes to the sales.

He stopped in front of his table at saka umupo sa chair niya. Umupo ako sa harap niya and the doors closed behind us.

"Remember when I told you about your sales? Well, there's actually a way for you to make it go up," he said in a serious tone.

Medyo kinabahan ako. I've heard and I've also experienced a lot of people making us do things just for our sales to go up. Ganon ang nangyari sa previous company na pinagtrabahuhan ko.

"What is it po?"

He cleared his throat at saka binuksan ang folder na hawak niya. He fixed his glasses at saka tinignan ang mga papers sa loob. Hinatak niya ang isa at binasa ito ng sandali.

I looked around. We are currently staying in a small workplace here in the second floor. Marketing department lang ang buong second floor but maliit pa rin para samin.

We are only separated by dividers each desk. Typical design of workplaces. Mr. Garcia is the only one who has his own room sa dulo ng department but hindi rin naman ganon kalaki.

"We have a potential buyer and investor. You have to persuade him in buying one of our houses to make way for our future collaborations with their company," he told me.

I nodded although hindi ko pa nakikita ang paper na hawak niya which has the paper and important information about this potential buyer.

Tumingin ulit siya sakin, this time his look was strict. "Can you do it?"

The buyer seems to be big time. I should be thankful for my boss dahil binigay niya sakin ang opportunity na ito although my co-workers are better than me.

"Of course po!" I smiled.

"Because if you can't, I'll just send one of our top sales agent," sabi niya. "But that means mawawalan ka na ng trabaho."

"No! No!" I assured him. "I can do it po."

He cleared his throat at saka inayos ang necktie niya. "Alright then. Read this carefully dahil nandito na lahat ang kailangan mo."
