rubyruins is an amazing writer on Wattpad who has written works such as 'Crown of Glass' which has 44k reads. I am in love with the aesthetic of this account, and they have some really interesting things to say in this interview!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

Well, I joined Wattpad mostly for reading, but then I kept on reading all these stories and wondered how it would be to write my own. Once I started, I was surprised at how putting my feelings into words made me feel better, so here we are!

Which character has been your favourite to write and why?

Undeniably, the character who's the closest to my heart is the warrior goddess Edwina Tremayne, the protagonist of my debut story, Crown Of Glass! It's so challenging to write a character who can crush you under their feet but also love you from the bottom of their heart, so she's definately my favourite!

What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?

The proudest moment was when I received a message from Wattpad telling me that I was featured. I screamed - literally! It was a really big thing for me, because it meant showcasing my work to the community on a large scale; besides, it bumped up the ranks and got me some really amazing readers who are very close to me ♡

Where do you see your account in 6 months?

Hopefully, I'm looking forward to completing my very first story - Crown Of Glass - within the next six months! It's been ongoing since nearly a year, and I'm so excited to feel that thrill which comes with finally completing a book!

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

It's finding the time to write :) I prewrite a lot of chapters beforehand - currently we have chapter 39 ongoing in the updates but I have upto chapter 50 prewritten! I like to keep my readers engaged with regular updates, but time gets the better of us all :(

Where do you get your inspiration from?

From anything, really! It might be a song I heard on somebody's ringtone, or a post I read on Pinterest or Tumblr. Anything I read, see, hear or feel eventually seeps into my words!

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

It takes time. That's the most important part. There was a time when I had 5 followers and a book no one was willing to read. But all things take time. To promote your work - engage. Talk to people. Make friends. Join clubs. Most of all, never ever give up!
