Niall stared at Harry as he entered, watching him sit down on the chair where Liam sat. They sat in silence, unsure of what to say to each other. The last time they had been alone together was when Harry admitted his feelings for him. You could probably guess it would be awkward for the pair of them.
"Niall, I don't want it to be awkward between us." Harry admitted and Niall sighed. "You should've thought about that before you boasted about your feelings for me." Niall snapped, a little harshly and Harry cringed.
He cleared his throat, glancing around the room. "I should probably go." Harry mumbled, standing up hastily but Niall was quick, reaching out to grab his hand. Harry froze a little before turning round to face Niall again. "No, don't go. I need you." Niall pleaded innocently and Harry sighed, shifting a little.
"You obviously don't." He retorted and Niall frowned. "Why are you here, then?" He challenged. Harry gulped nervously. "Because I care." He answered simply. Niall dropped his hand, feeling a little helpless but Harry sat back down again.
Nialls face had then turned a pale shade of green and turned to vomit violently over the bed. "Niall!" Harry exclaimed, rushing over to Nialls side. "It's just fine, it's just morning sickness." Niall assured him weakly but Harry wasn't convinced. "It isn't even morning." Harry reminded him and Niall stared bluntly at Harry for a second, feeling a little self-cautious.
"Niall, is there something you're not telling us?" Harry spoke softly and Niall only shook his head, sitting back down when Nialls body began to shake uncontrollably. "Bloody hell, Niall!" Harry snapped, his hands on Nialls shoulders as Nialls body jolted and jerked in the most uncomfortable way possible.
He then started to press the emergency button when Niall didn't respond. Nialls hands were clenched so tightly into fists, his face turning red and it looked like he was trying to say something but he couldn't. The door swung open and Liam came through, followed by Liz and Jo.
Liam stood still, unable to move as he watched his husbands back arch in pain, his whole body trembling. Tears streaming down his face, Liam rushed over to Niall and teared his shirt open, already attaching stickers to his chest to hurry up the process. Liam sobbed loudly, trying hold Nialls body down but it was useless.
"Niall! Niall!" Liam shouted but Nialls eyes stared lifelessly back at him as Liam cried. "Liam, c'mon. We gotta go." Harry said hurriedly, grabbing Liam's arm back Liam shook him off. "Niall, please." Liam cried, cupping his face.
"Liam, we need to go. Let the nurses do their job." Harry persuaded him, pulling him back as Jo and Liz started attaching tubes and wires into Nialls skin, calling for more help as they did so. Harry dragged Liam out the room and into the patient waiting area.
"Harry." Liam cried, trying to push past Harry but Harry only kept a firm hold on him. "Harry please, I can't just sit here." He pleaded, reaching for the door handle but Harry pulled Liam close and Liam buried his face in Harry's shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably. Harry sat Liam down while he cried, saying as much soothing things as possible but he knew nothing would work. Liam cried himself to sleep, his eyes red and sore with tiredness as he let his head fall against Harry’s shoulder.
Once Liam was asleep, it felt he they had been waiting forever to hear some good news about Niall. A few extra nurses and doctors had rushed inside to help once Niall started yelling in pain from inside. The sound was piercingly heart-breaking to Harry and he closed his eyes, cringing every time he heard his wails and he had never been so thankful that Liam was asleep otherwise he would’ve been frantic. Harry had finally fallen asleep too, realising there hadn’t been any sign of movement for a while, until Liz came up and patted Liam’s leg.
