Holding his hand again felt like home.

We walked around the vineyard for at least half an hour. We didn't talk. We just held hands and walked. That was enough.

The path we were on ended at a fork in the road. If we went left, we'd be back at the reception tent. Right took us to the inn.

Shawn looked at me. I bit my lip. I knew which way I wanted to go, but I also knew it was not a good idea. I was torn between listening to my body and my brain. My heart was siding with my body on this one.

"Just for tonight," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

He nodded and pulled me so we turned to the right.

When we got to his room, it felt like we'd stepped back in time. Our lips met, and it was as if we'd never stopped kissing. We knew exactly where to touch each other, how to do things that would drive the other wild.

After we'd removed ours clothes and gotten into his bed, he stopped kissing me and reached his hand out to touch my cheek.

"I still love you, Josie."

"Shhh, Shawn. Don't do this," I pleaded.

I didn't want this to be emotional; I only wanted physical. I could detach myself if it was just sex. If it was more, it became real.

"I have to tell you this," he continued, looking deep in my eyes. "I am never going to stop loving you. If you ever came to me, I would drop everything to be with you."

"Don't say that. You need to move on and find happiness with someone else."

"Like you have?" he asked.

It stung a little that he knew I felt the exact same way. He knew from the way I looked at him and from the way I touched him that I still loved him. Why was I transparent when I was with him?

"I might move on someday," I said, though I couldn't say I believed it while he was holding me looking at me like he was.

Shawn leaned in and kissed me sweetly. "I'm so sorry I hurt you."

Instead of telling him I forgave him, which I'd said already, I pulled him closer. My mouth attacked his. I grabbed onto his hair, hoping it erased any memory of how it felt when his wedding date had done the same thing at the reception. I urged him to continue what we'd come to his room for.

He obliged.
