chapter 6 - explosion

"Earth has attempted to make contact with Blaz. PLease stand by as we try to strengthen the connection" Maia said, giggling.

"Who me?" I asked.

"No. The other boy who is named Blaz at this table." Eli said, trying to hold in a laugh.

"Oh okay. Well then, if you don't mind, I'm going back to space. Good luck with the other Blaz." I said, which earned me a smack on the head from Maia.

"We're talking to you, idiot." She said, giggling.

"But my name is Blaz, not idiot." I said, and earned another hit on the head, but from Don this time.

"Listen to the young lady. Be polite." He said, snickering.

I stood up and bowed. "I'm sorry my lady. Please accept my sincere apology."

Maia laughed. "I don't know" she turned to the other two. "Should I accept?" She asked.

Eli shook his head.

I stood up. "You can shut up." I snapped, then I sat back down. "You're all a bunch of meanies."

We continued to joke around until we were all done eating. Then we headed back to the cabin. Maia was on my back as a punishment for being rude to the queen.

I dumped her on the top bunk when we got there. She laughed and sat up. "Rude." Then lied back down, still laughing.

"Let me see those injuries again." Don said, taking out the cloth.

I took off the bandages to see that they were getting infected.

"Maia could you come here for a minute?" Don asked.

She came over and looked at my wounds. "What do you need?" she asked as Don gave her the cloth.

"Could you clean his wounds as much as you can while I go out for a second?" Don asked.

"Sure." She looked at me. "This isn't going to be fun."

I shrugged. "Since when was life fun?"

As Maia was cleaning my wounds, Eli came over to talk to Maia.

"How's it going?" he asked.

"These wounds are a mess." she turned to me. "What did you do to them?" She sounded concerned.

"Probably just from the sweat and dirt in this place." I didn't want her to worry.

Don came back into the room a little while later, holding some plants and water. "My turn." Maia moved out of the way and took some of the herbs from Don, separating them on the floor and handing them to Don when he asked for them.

Eli started talking with Maia about some sort of game that they had both played in the mortal world. Something called Minecraft?

"What were you two talking about?" I asked.

"It's called MInecraft. You guys wouldn't know what it is." Maia turned back to Eli. "Fastest time in defeating the Ender Dragon?" They both wrote a time on their hands with a pen that they had found.

"I win again!" Maia shouted. It felt good to see her happy like this.

"No fair!" Eli yelled. "You're 3 years older than me."

"That didn't matter when you won the diamond round." Maia said, giggling.

Don put some berries on my cut and I jerked back. "Hey watch it! That hurt!"

"What would you rather I do?" Don asked. When I didn't answer, he nodded. "That's what I thought." He continued to put the herbs and berries on my cuts and I continued to pull away.
