May, May, May. The nickname ran through Hermione's head over and over as she and Draco walked down to the Great Hall. It was a nickname she had never heard before. It was better than 'Mione. After Ron did those...things to her the nickname was ruined. Draco stared at the ground eyebrows furrowed, he wasn't sure if she actually liked the nickname or not. Maybe she was just saying she liked it. When did I start thinking like that? When did I start caring about what she likes?

Then one thought struck them both: When did I start caring?

It had only been two days but you could almost hear wedding bells in the air. Girls pouring over magazines, and boys shaking their heads while smiling at their future wives. Then there were others. Sitting as far away as possible from their future spouses, waiting with misery the inevitable reprimand from a professor.

Hermione and Draco walked into the Great Hall to see Harry nervously pacing next to Pansy and Ginny. He was debating whether or not to tell Pansy it was a tragic accident or the killing curse.

Once Harry saw them he rushed over, "Where have you two been I've been waiting here forever" he hissed.

"Potter, calm down. We're an hour early," Draco said exasperatedly.

"Yeah, well... Bloody hell 'Mione how do you like him," Harry asked her.

She just shook her head and said dryly, "I don't want to hear any more of you two arguing or insulting each other. Understand?"

They both nodded solemnly, having both experienced her wrath.

"I guess we should go," Harry said meekly.

15 minutes later 2/3s of the golden trio and Draco were marching down to the Minister's office.

"Harry, Hermione, Draco, what can I do for you three," Kingsley said welcoming them into his office.

"Well, you see, Ron is dead... and we think we know what happened but we're not sure," Hermione said.

"And what happened is..." Kingsley asked.

"Poison, we checked for any traces but couldn't find any. I think it was some type of poison and then an untraceable potion,"

"Do you have any idea who did this? Who... who would do such a thing?"

"Well, Minister, from what I personally have seen Weasley has made many enemies over the years. I'm not saying the Dark Lord or his followers, peers," Draco offered.

"I suppose, but now we're going to need to launch some investigation. This is going to take forever, and we just got out of the war. I don't want to alarm people again," Kingsley sighed.

"I say you just announce Ron is dead and say it was one of Voldemorts lesser-known followers," Draco replied.

"But someone is going to find out eventually. It will become public," Kingsley's said solemnly. "Many people already don't trust the government. It's too risky"

"You can say you got false information, but whatever you do you can't mention Hogwarts students," Harry told him. " We don't want something to happen to Hogwarts. It's my home,"

"Fine. Now, I don't mean to be rude but don't you three have to get back to school?" Kingsley asked.
