Prompt: After gaining the ability to see everyone's red strings of fate tying soul mates to each other. You realize your string extends past the sky.

You look around again seeing strings mingled together. Confused on why yours goes up you start walking to your favorite park. as you approach the park you notice someone else's string going upwards. You walk up to her and see she has a ring on. She looks maybe mid-30s whereas your only 19. "Um, excuse me, this may sound weird but are you married" you ask? She smiles lightly and says " I was for 15 years until last year when my husband was shot and killed serving overseas". You look at her with sympathy and she asks "why do you ask?" You question yourself whether you should tell her and you choose to take the risk. "I can see everyone's soulmate tied to each other. Mine extends high above the skies and so does yours. I guess my soulmate has died but I cant think of who it could be." You look down and she lays a hand on your shoulder. You look at her and you can see pain yet compassion in her eyes. All of a sudden a little girl and a boy maybe 2 years older than her run-up to the women screaming "Mom, Mom, Mom." I smile at them and she says "they are all I have left of him." "I'm so sorry, thank you for answering my question though." The women hug's you and you go sit under a tree. You start thinking about every boy you have dated. Thomas? No, he moved to California and has been in a 4-year relationship. Jeffery? No, I just bumped into him a couple days ago at Wal-Mart. Then you think back to your sophomore year. Your best friend Malakye died. You guys were at the park talking and swinging when some grown man tried to talk to you. Malakye tried to get you away from him but the guy shot him twice in the chest. The man ran away because a cop car just so happened to be driving by. You remember holding his head while the police tried to stop the bleeding. He told you "Don't worry about me ill be fine. I love you." Then he passed out. You remember trying to wake him up and he just wouldn't. The paramedics got there and pronounced him dead at the scene. You remember having feelings for him but he was your best friend, you didn't want to ruin that. Everything made sense now. Malakye was your soulmate. You get up and walk to your car which was 4 blocks away at your college. You get in the car and drive to the cemetery and drive to where he was buried. You used to sit here for hours at a time just talking to him. Everything you left is still there. The letters, cards, pictures; all rained on. Your string starts to glow. You look up confused. You start walking toward his grave. Behind his grave, there was a tree. You're too busy looking up at your string to see the stump sticking up from the ground. you trip over it and hit your head on Malakye's grave. You go unconscious and your spirit rises from your body. Are you dead? Your string goes into your chest and you feel it tug you. All of a sudden your being pulled upwards at 75 mph. There's a bright light. The park you used to chill at appeared. Then you see him. Malakye. Your string glows brighter as you get closer. Then you run up and hug him. He says "I missed you." "I missed you too. I'm so sorry" You look down. He grabbed your chin and made you look at him in the eyes. "It wasn't your fault. As long as your safe that's all that matters. By the way nice move tripping and dying at MY grave." He says. You giggle and he smiles. "I've always loved your laugh" he mentioned. He grabs your face and kisses you passionately. You smile into the kiss and wrap your arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around your waist and holds you. You smile up at him. "I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you" you state. "As it should be" He inputs.
