‘Do Lee and the rest of the guys know about the necklace? Xxx’ I sent to Hunter, patiently waiting for a reply whilst sitting on the lid of the toilet.
Hunter’s text came through a couple moments later
‘Yh xxx’ Eurgh, his text talking was awful, it made me want to hit him in the face with a dictionary. Normally, he answered in full sentences but I guessed that he was busy.
I washed my hands and sorted myself out before joining Lee again downstairs.
“I thought you fell in,” he replied when I joined him on the sofa, scoffing at his words.
“Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, by the way,” I retorted, smirking. Lee just shrugged, looking out the window.
“Do you love Hunter?” he asked, turning to look at me. I gaped. Like ‘mouth open to catch all flies and your tongue dries out’ gape.
“No,” I answered immediately, glaring. Lee sighed, holding his hands up defensively.
“Really?” I nodded, sitting back on the sofa.
“Yes. I don’t do love, trust me. Neither does he.” Lee grimaced, shaking his head.
“Course.” I rolled my eyes, turning away from him to glance at the door. They were taking so long that it was beginning to get worrying. I mean, four on one, how long could to take to pummel the life out of the guy?
“Are you riding this weekend?” I asked, trying to break the awkward silence. Lee nodded, smiling slightly.
“Yeah, so is Alfie. When’s your next dance practise?” I shrugged.
“I don’t know. Zoe isn’t showing up to them and Kenzi has kind of hit rock bottom with all of this Seb business,” I said through a grunt.
Just as Lee was about to answer, the door swung open and four rowdy guys walked through, each looked a bit beaten and bruised.
“Jeez, guys! What did he have? Go-go gadget arms?” I asked, jumping up to inspect my boyfriend’s head injury.
“Not, about ten other men,” Chase grumbled, wiping blood from his lip.
Hunter didn’t look too bad; he had a cut on his head, just under his hairline and a bruise on his perfect cheekbone.
“We were outnumbered massively,” Alfie agreed, kicking the door shut behind Kyle.
“What does that mean?” I asked, grabbing Hunter’s hand gently. His fingers curled around my hand, pulling me closer to him with a wince.
“That we have one hell of a problem,” Chase replied, going into the kitchen. I sighed, dragging Hunter up the stairs with me.
He came without a problem, his steps slowed as I led him to the bedroom.
“Princess, I’m always up for a bit of the dirty business but right now, you have three heads,” he muttered, rubbing his face.
