A/N: this one is kinda weird lol i ran out of ideas! oh, and calum is your neighbour in this by the way...

You walked closer to the edge as the unforgiving sea churned beneath you, welcoming you into it's depths.

You had wanted to take your life for a while now and you couldn't believe it was finally time. Your family was at home, thinking you had gone out to get them some dinner. Little did they know, you were attempting to plunge to your death.

Life was hard, too hard to struggle through everyday and you felt like this was absolutely the best option. You didn't want to commit violently with a gun or knife, nor did you want to take your life chemically. You decided that the ocean was the best choice, it was like your second home and you wanted to pass somewhere spiritual, somewhere that held memories close to your heart.

As you took what you thought to be your final steps, the colours of everything around you seemed sharper, as if the world had suddenly switched to high-definition. The stars sparkled brilliantly in the navy blue sky and the waves beneath you crashed rhythymically, causing a calming sense to wash over you.

"Stop!" Someone shouted desperately behind you. "Don't do what I think you're going to do!"

You considered to just jump in and ignore the person shouting behind you, but instinct told you that that was the wrong thing to do.

"What the fuck man? Can't you see I'm busy?" You screamed at the stranger before turning around and almost laughing at the sight.

Your life-saver was a slim dude in a tight, neon green and yellow outfit with chunky black goggles on top of his yellow beanie.

He ran towards you to steer you away from the edge. "Why would you care? You're just some stupid random in a ridiculous outfit."

"Hey! I may be wearing a ridiculous outfit but that doesn't mean I'm stupid! I just saved your life." He pouted, his voice sounded kinda familiar...

"But you didn't save me from the pain and misery that I will have to go through everyday from now on before I attempt to commit a second time." You shrugged.

He went silent after that, his eyes filled with sorrow.

"You know Y/N, suicide does not end the chances of life getting worse, but eliminates the chances of it ever getting better. Do what you want but if you choose the selfish way, your family and friends will suffer."

His eyes welled up with tears before walking slowly away from you.

"Wait! How do you know my name?" You called after him but he ignored you, the distance between you was growing bigger. You just watched him walk away before finally deciding to run up to him to pull the beanie and goggles off his head. Once you had done so, your eyes widened in recognition.

"C- Calum? Why didn't you tell me it was you?"

"You weren't supposed to find out. I've actually been in love you for a while now, I...I don't think I would've lived much longer if you were gone. I know, it's weak of me. I mean, we barely even talk for Gods sakes!"

Tears welled up in your eyes and your mouth dropped open in astonishment at Calum's confession. You've had feelings towards him for a while too but you always thought that he was way too out of your limit.

"Listen Cal, n-now that you've saved my life... I have to get the family some dinner as promised. You can come with me if you like but just promise you'll pretend I never tried...I will be strong. F-for you." You gave him the biggest smile you could muster before reaching out for his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"I-I love you Calum, I'll try and make this work. For us."
