All-star weekend. A break from actual hockey and just getting to relax and have fun. I smiled as a little kid skated past me while they set up for the Skills Competition. I sighed. "You alright man?"
I turned to Johnny Gaudreau. "Yeah Im fine. Just enjoying this. Im humbled to be a part of it." He smiled and nodded while looking around.
"Yeah. This isn't my first but it definitely doesn't fail to amaze me each time I get chosen. It's a great way to bond with other players plus spend time with family and friends." I froze at his comment.
Family and friends. I had that. Johnny continued to talk but at that point I didn't hear anything he was saying. I watched as players interacted with some of the kids. Oliver Ekman Larsson playing with Mike Smith's kids. Carey Price and his kid. I spotted the contrasting grey and and black Kings Jerseys that we're watching Carey. Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty. It got me thinking. Maybe she's here. Of course my conscience was saying not alone dumbass. she's most likely here with Alec. Maybe Freddie was right, maybe I did make a mistake.
"Auston? Yo, Auston?" I turned back to Johnny.
"Did you say something?" He laughed at me.
"Yeah, I asked if you wanted to get dinner after this," he looked at me with a frown. "Auston are you sure you're okay?"
I nodded and gave him my best fake smile. He nodded back and stood up for his turn in the next competition. "Good luck Johnny Hockey."
He laughed and nodded. I kneeled down to stay out of everyone's way and looked around before catching ahold of a sight that I had come accustomed to. There in all her glory was Brynn and Elle standing by the glass closest to Anze and Drew. Next to her was none other than Alec Martinez himself with his hand around her waist and a big smile on his face as he talked with his teammates. I let out a shaky sigh as she laughed at something Kopitar had said. She looked breathtaking. She was wearing her hair in a ponytail with a Dodgers ball cap fit on her head. She had on a light gray sweater with white ripped skinny jeans and black converse. I continued to stare before I heard my name get called for the competition I was in. Johnny skated over to me and smiled. "Think oh can beat 24 seconds?"
I smirked and skated to the opposite end of the ice to get ready. I stared at the course in front of me before looking back at Brynn who was now watching me along with Kopitar, Doughty, and Martinez. I sighed and looked back at the obstacles and gave the camera a smile. Showtime!
Holy crap i'm sorry for the little hiatus that i took. i'm back now. i've just been so busy with school and running track to try and prepare for indoor state but i will continue to try and keep up with my stories. i promise🖤
