A few hours had passed since Ashton had stopped by and I'd rejected him. I'd decided that I needed to go buy some grocery's considering my stomach was rumbling and there was nothing in my fridge... probably because I'd been having junk food delivered anytime I got hungry. Yeah... it was definitely time for me to buy something healthy. Or at least relatively healthy.
It's one of the first times I'll have left my apartment since I got here a couple of weeks ago. It would do me good to get some fresh air and relax a little bit.
I drove down to the local supermarket, crying half the way because Jesus Christ LA traffic sucks!
Once I'd eventually arrived and found a park, I headed towards the store. It was a beautiful sunny day, reminded me a lot of home. Calm, warm and quiet.
"Go away!" A screech came from somewhere near by, disrupting the eerie calmness of before. "I don't know you! Go away!"
I was instantly on high alert, searching the surrounding area for the cause of the sound.
"Help!" The same voice yelped, begging for someone to hear.
From the corner of my eye I saw a hidden alley, hiding away between two stores. Some large garbage bins and a tonne of trash lined the walls. But standing, or struggling, right there was a tall man and a smaller girl, who seemed to be fighting him off.
Acting on natural instinct alone, I sprinted over to the pair, adrenaline running high.
"Please get off me! Please!" The girl cried, pushing as hard as she could to get him off of her.
"Shut up girly!" The man, who looked about in his thirties grumbled. He was much bigger than the girl, and was certainly using it to his advantage.
Without thinking, I ran over and ripped the man off of the girl with all the strength I could muster, throwing him to the ground. He smashed his head against the concrete, dazing him slightly. I pinned him down, restraining him.
"Hun, go inside the store and get them to call the police. Now." I told the girl, she nodded and ran, as I held the man.
By now, a crowd of shoppers had stopped to see what the ruckus was. Two men stood there watching, shocked at what they'd witnessed.
"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to help me keep him down?" I spat at the men who quickly snapped into action and pulled the man up, holding him against the wall and letting me step back.
"Hey what's going on out here?! The police are on their way but I couldn't give them an exact reason why!" Someone who I assumed was a shopkeeper ran out. "Oh fuck." The young man, who was apparently the manager of a store upon closer inspection.
"Where's the girl gone?" I asked, needing to check on her.
"She's in my office, I told her to wait there because she was pretty beaten up. We've got a first aid officer going to help her now." The manager said.
"Right, show me to her please. When the police get here, come get me." I told them.
"Wait, aren't you that drummer from that band?" A teen yelled out from the crowd that was forming.
"Yes, but that doesn't matter. Make sure this guy doesn't get away." I said before making the manager take time to the girl.
As I stepped into the mangers office, I felt my heart ache at the sight in front of me. A small girl, maybe 17 years old, beaten, bruised and bloodied, being patched up by an older woman.
"Hey, can I have a minute with her?" I asked the woman. The woman looked to the girl asking if it was okay, and with a nod everyone had cleared out the room.
