summary: in 1964, a group of new jersey teenagers make it their mission to travel to new york city in order to catch the beatles' very first performance on "the ed sullivan show." pam is engaged, and hopes to live it up a bit before marriage. grace aspires to be a photographer, and thinks snapping a few pics of the group will accelerate her career. and janis just wants to complain about how the band brings down serious art.
why i like it: THIS MOVIE IS FANDOM CULTURE. i'm not exaggerating AT ALL when i say this -- it's literally predicted stan twitter in the 2010s and it's alarmingly accurate. these girls are SO adamant on finding the beatles and getting tickets to their show that they sneak into their hotel and go to many many (many) other great lengths to see their favourite band live. though some of the movie is questionable, the rest is such a ridiculous, hilarious mess that it's a good time. my sister and i were pissing ourselves laughing as we imagined insane fans of the 21st century getting away with the shit these girls do
