"Hey," I breathed as I got into his car.
"Hello and good day," Wyatt said, looking at the road. When I slammed the door, he turned to look at me. I couldn't help but notice that his eyes widened a little bit. "Holly shit, babe. Why do you look so hot? Do you want to go somewhere or something?"
"...Did you just make a pun out of my name?" I asked, ignoring his question. The stupid fucking joke was more important than the fact that he just complimented me.
He broke a smile, laughing at his own joke. "Yeah," he said, still smiling.
I opened the car door and started to get out. "Yup, that's my cue to leave," I told him. "Have a nice time stealing David's vodka by yourself."
"Shut up," he said, still smiling. "Get back in here."
I did as I was told and shut the door again. I placed my hands on my lap as I looked straight ahead. "That joke was terrible," I said. "I don't even want to look at you."
Suddenly, I felt Wyatt's hand on mine. Chills were sent up my arm, and I felt a feeling that I hadn't felt in a long time. I turned to face him and he smiled, then rubbing his thumb on my hand. "I missed you," he said quietly. The volume that he was speaking at made him sound genuine, and it's stupid, but I literally felt my heart melt in that moment.
...Fuck, Holly! I was supposed to be mad at him, not internally gushing over him! I mean, yeah, he had gorgeous green eyes and a perfect smile and...beautiful pink lips and...that long hair that was falling just the right...
Focus, you dumb bitch! I was trying not to forget about why I was going over there in first place, but he was making it so hard! And the fact that he wasn't even trying to distract me was making it even worse! Wyatt Darren is an effortlessly beautiful human being and that was the thing that bothered me the most about him.
"I, um... I missed you, too," I stammered. "Uh, yes, I did, believe you me!"
He smiled and then leaned in to kiss me. I kissed him back, obviously, even though I was still kinda mad at him. I mean, what the hell was I gonna do? Just sit there? Pull away? Jump out of the fucking car? Jump into the road? Get hit by a car? Die?
...Okay, that was too far. But still, it's strange. Hanging out with Wyatt was different than when I was on the phone with him or when I saw him at school. He seemed so much sweeter and more genuine when it was just the two of us. He pulled away, but then quickly leaned in to kiss me again. Then he moved back to the wheel, starting to drive.
When we got to his house, he immediately led me to where David kept his alcohol. There were rows and rows or beer, wine, whiskey, vodka, fuckin' whatever other types of alcohol there are, whatever! Ah, an alcoholic's dream. Wyatt started to dig through them and I just kinda sat there, watching him as he did.
"What're you in the mood for, darlin'?" he asked. "Rum, wine, beer?"
I laughed, answering with a simple, "I don't fucking know." He turned around and glared at me, to which I shrugged and responded by saying, "You pick. I don't even know what rum is."
"Ah, you don't want to know what it is," he told me, turning back around. "You're lucky. I fucking hate rum and I'll never drink it again."
He continued looking through the collection until he found a bottle that I think he got excited about. And I'm only saying that because he gasped when he found it.
"This shit is so good," he said as he stood up, also lifting up the bottle. "And it was in the back, so I doubt David even knew that he still had it."
