Y/N's POV

I grew up with almost an empty stomach. Two parents who did nothing to fill that stomach. I had to steal apples from my local farmers' market in Chicago.

Today, I don't have an empty stomach. I have a job at Macy's and a small apartment located on the north side of town.

I'm finishing up my shift, closing the jewelry department when I see a man walk in.

The first thing I notice are the chocolate pools he must call eyes. The moles shattered on his face like stars in the night sky. Perfect messy hair.

"Excuse me, sir? The jewelry department is closing," I say.

"I'm looking for an engagement ring," he says angelically. Holy shit he's the absolute definition of perfect.

"I'm sorry sir—"

"Dylan," he cuts me off. I sigh.

"I'm sorry," I pause. "Dylan. We're closing."

"I'll be quick. I know what ring I want to get. I've seen it in a catalog and I hope you have it."

I rub my temples, hoping that my temper won't get the best of me. "I have to ask you again. Please leave."

He leans against the counter. "Or what?"

"Hey!" I hear my manager shout. "You can't be here sir! We're closing!"

"I'm looking for an engagement ring," Dylan says again.

"I'm sorry Mr. O'Brien but we don't have the ring. Now, may you leave?" She says. He nods and walks away. I release a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"O'Brien?"

"He's Dylan O'Brien. Called earlier about a ring. He acts. He's also a charming man." She says with a wink.

"Will he come back?"

"Yes now close up before I fire you."

The next day...

I'm setting up today's jewelry display when I hear the voice of Mr. O'Brien.

"Hello madam."

I look up to meet the chocolate pools he calls eyes.

"Um Mr. O'Brien! Do you want to find the ring now?" I ask. He shakes his head.

"No. She was cheating so..." I frown.

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that."

"Yeah. She was too much anyway. I think she just wanted material things, not a person." I lower my head. And he continues. "So I'm looking for something new. Something simple. It's the simple things that count, correct?"

"I agree," I say with a grin. Then I frown in confusion. "Wait. If you're not buying an engagement ring, then why are you here?" I ask.

He only smiles. "I found my new simple thing. You."

Hi! So this is my first imagine and I hoped you liked it. I thought this idea was really cute so... :)
