Chapter 5
"Hmmm, don't stop, that's so nice." Delilah murmured as a hand slid from her stomach up to touch her breast in a soft, stimulating touch.
"Damn, you feel so good, Lil."
Delilah wiggled to know more of this touch that made her heart race. Her eyes drifted open to see blazing hazel eyes watching her.
"You're so damn beautiful, Lil."
His hand moved to cup her face and she blinked up at him with wide eyes. Memories of the previous night floated through her mind and she sighed. How awkward was the moment when she walked into the bedroom in her pyjamas to find him patting the bed and pulling the bedclothes down. He had eased her discomfort with that beaming smile when she sat down on the bed.
Thinking about the way his arms had wrapped around her and with his breath upon her neck still made her shiver in delight. He had held her as if she were his world. Even this morning, his arms still held her tight.
"You need to stop, Rick. I can't let you use old habits to avoid the issues in your life." She told him but she didn't move away.
"I'd never use you. I don't think I could ever explain to you that you mean more to me than any one-night stand I've ever had." His lips touched her ear as he whispered the words.
"Did I tell you I liked your song?" she admitted and his smile broadened.
"Not as such, but I'm glad you do. You were right yesterday, writing a song helped to bring me out of the pain. I'm still sad he's gone but I can see beyond that now." He pushed her hair back from her face.
"I'm glad."
She stretched against him and Rick went silent. With a yawn, she settled back down with him revelling in the simple joy of waking up beside him.
"What's the plan today?" she asked and his smile disappeared.
"I have to let you go home."
"Yes."
"I booked your flight for the early afternoon, is that okay?"
"Sure, I'm not in any rush to get home, but I will ring dad."
"How's he going?"
"Fine, as grumpy as any other day." Delilah chuckled.
"You love him."
"I do and I'd never trade him in either," she smiled as she heard her phone start to ring. "That's probably him now."
Delilah got out of bed and went on the hunt for her handbag. She found it where she had left it the previous night and managed to answer it before it stopped ringing.
"Hello." She panted into the phone.
"If you had of told me you were going to a Rick Bailey concert, I wouldn't have forced you to come out with us on Friday night," Natalia's voice echoed in her ears but Delilah couldn't concentrate. "How in hell did you get such a great seat? It must have cost you a fortune."
"Nat, you woke me up and I'm not with it yet." Delilah muttered into the phone.
"I am so freaking jealous. Rick Bailey and you saw him up close!" Natalia sounded dreamy.
"How do you know about the concert?"
"Are you kidding? He played a brand new song that he meant for a specific person. It's big news. Big! There's so many recordings on every social media and then I saw you in that crowd. You looked hot, by the way, but you went to a Rick Bailey concert without me!" Natalia wailed.
