Chapter 16

We got back into Beacon relatively quick after that. Gabe was pretty hyped about joining the team. I was just hoping none of this was gonna go to his head, especially if we encountered a Darkness Zone out here. It was then it occurred to me I never asked him what subclasses he had access to.

We were just outside of our dorms when I stopped him and asked.

"There's more than one?"

"Yeah. Defender, Striker, and Sunbreaker."

"I think it was... what did you call it, Shelley?"

"Striker with sunbreaker and sentinel in reserve."

"Yeah, that's it."

"Sentinel?" Noah chipped in, "the hell is that?"

Shelley appeared next to Gabe's head "the void subclass that I provided him. He summons a shield that he can use to bash enemies, or even throw at them. He can also drop a Ward of Dawn if he so chooses to."

Noah and I looked at each other with confusion written all over our faces.

"You'll see what it is soon," she replied before disappearing.

We walked into our dorm to see Nagisa laying on her bed with headphones on. Her foot tapping to the music and her head buried in a textbook. I smiled and nudged her bed.

She looked over her book, flashed a smile, and took off her headphones.

"Hey guys," she looked past Noah and I, and towards Gabe. "This that kid you talked about?"

"Yeah, this is Gabe. Gabe, this is Nagisa."

She stood and shook hands with him. They smiled at one another and Nagisa looked at me. "You didn't tell me he was this handsome."

His face turned slightly red, "And he didn't tell me he had such a good looking woman on his team."

Her face turned an even darker shade of red.

"Alright you two love birds, go get washed up. Dinner in twenty."

"Yes, sir." Nagisa replied.

I looked at Gabe and gestured towards an empty bed. "This is yours, use it however you want. But I recommend sleeping and studying be your number one priority."

He chuckled a little and agreed.

Noah chimed in a little "things should be easy for you though. You've got prior knowledge about this place. We didn't."

"True I guess."

Nagisa stepped out of the bathroom, Gabe slipped in next.

"So where were you guys at?"

"Testing his skills with his gear. He's good, real good. But he'll need help relying on his super."

"What is he?"

"Titan with Striker, Sunbreaker, and Sentinel."

Her face showed confusion like ours did before.

"Don't ask, we don't know either."

She nodded as he stepped out of the bathroom. I looked at my team, Noah looked back at me while running his hand through his hair. Gabe adjusted his beanie slightly, and Nagisa crossed her arms at me."

"Are you ready? I'm starving."

"Yeah, let's get going," I replied opening the door for them.

Nagisa took point as Noah, Gabe, and myself followed. We talked a little as we walked. Gabe asked about what kind of things to expect at the school and what kind of missions we go on. We told him about the raid on the Grimm nest, he seemed impressed. After that, we told him about going back to Earth and helping Saladin. He said he couldn't wait to meet him.
