Ummm...... hi? Anybody still reading this?
I know it's been forever, and I really should be on my shit when it comes to updates, but college is hard my dudes. School has been pretty stressful, and adding financial stress and trying to find a place to live next year over the past few months only adds to it.
But good news, my friends and I were approved for a house in the fall! So we'll be moving into a super cute little townhouse about ten minutes away from my school, and I couldn't be more excited.
Anyways, Mila starts school in this, so we'll get to see a tiny bit of them going through their days, Lauren at work and Mila back at school. I hope you guys enjoy!
Lauren sighed again, looking at the little thing in front of her. For someone so small, she never thought it'd take this much to wake her up,
"Baby I really don't want to drag you out of bed, can you please sit up? I don't want you to be late" Lauren huffed, trying to get the sleepy girl to at least sit up for what seemed like the 100th time.
She'd been pleading and asking like this for a few minutes now, which is why she'd decided to get Camila up 15 minutes before she normally would've.
She knew it'd be hard to get into the routine of getting up and ready for school, but there was no way around it, and there was definitely no way she'd let Camila be late on her first day back. It was Monday, so the girl had a bit of a late start. Lauren had let her sleep in a good while, but it was definitely time to get up or else she'd be drowsy for the rest of the day.
"No mama! 'M s'eeping!" Camila whined, rolling away from the woman and curling farther into the mass of blankets that crowded her crib.
Lauren had debated letting her sleep in the nursery the night before, but after some consideration, she thought it wouldn't do any harm. After all, she had plenty of time to get the girl ready, fed, and out of headspace.
"Camila, we don't have time for this. I need you to get up and get in your bath so we have time to get you ready and fed without rushing" Lauren pleaded once more, this time wiggling her arm underneath the small of the girl's back and attempting to sit her up.
Camila lightly swatted her hand away, rolling back over and defiantly screwing her eyes shut. They were closed tightly, the little wrinkles of skin appearing on her eyelids and nose, lips now stubbornly wrapped around her thumb as she attempted to coax herself back to sleep.
"Baby, I'm not going to ask you again. You can either be a good little girl and get up for mama, or you can sit in the corner before your bath and not watch any cartoons before we go" Lauren said.
She knew the "punishment" wasn't that bad, but to little Camila, the threat of no cartoons was like the end of the world.
And to show it, the small girl immediately let out a high pitched cry, rolling onto her back and banging her feet down onto her mattress.
"No!" She wailed, yelling at the top of her lungs, though no tears were making their way out of her eyes. From this alone, Lauren knew this wasn't the girl being upset, and rather was just her being difficult.
"Karla Camila, stop that right now. I'm giving you one more chance before you go and sit in the corner, and if you continue this little fit I'll pull you straight over my knee and you'll go to school with a sore bottom. Understand little girl?" Lauren asked sternly.
Even she would admit she was pretty soft when it came to enforcing rules, but there were some things she just wouldn't compromise on. And being late on the first day was certainly one of them.
