Eternity do us apart

Will thy eyes fade from my memories,
As did thy smile?
I look at thy cold stone,
And read thy name,
Again and again.

It seems as if thee were alive now,
As this heart of glass has no memory,
Of thee passing.
As this heart of glass might shatter,
If it accepts the truth.

I know I should have visited thee,
On thy death bed.
But this proud mind of mine,
Refused to move from the Rhine.
I know I should have visited thee,
While thou were still alive,
But this proud mind of mine,
Refused the entry of love in my heart,
It refused the entry of humanity in my heart.

This proud mind of mine was lost,
In the abyss of war.
I remember thy words,
And I am stuck in it.
I remember thy eyes,
And I am lost in it.
But,for some vague reason,
I cannot remember thy smile.

Thy body so fragile and pale,
Now rests with hell's creatures,
But thy soul is in thy heaven above.
And there my love I shall reunite with thee,
When the time comes,
I shall be free,
Free from the boundaries of mortality,
Free from the sufferings that comes with it,
And free from the lust that abides in it.

In heaven above we shall dwell,
In heaven above we shall dwell.
But until that moment comes,
When I shall reunite with thee,
I shall forevermore hold this glass,
With my loyalty it shall last.
Until that moment comes,
I shall uphold these vows,
And shall stay by thy side,
Even when death comes to claws.
I shall uphold these vows,
Even if eternity do us apart.
