13 years ago:

There was a loud knock on the door of Wimbledon orphanage, at midnight on Friday 13th November 1998. An elderly care worker, whose name was Helen; slowly opened the door, she peered out and saw no one, and was about to close the door, when she heard a baby cry. She slowly peered down and was astonished at what she saw;

There on the doorstep of Wimbledon orphanage was a basket, holding a child with chocolate brown hair, and sleepy coal black eyes; the child was wrapped in a ragged old blanket that looked like it had seen better days. Astonished, Helen gently picked up the child, and re-entered the warm building. While picking up the child, she noticed a small envelope attached to the bottom of the basket, curious Helen opened the envelope, and saw a letter. It read:

To the residents of Wimbledon Orphanage,

The child you see in this basket was the only survivor of the fire at Royal free hospital. On this day at 3:00 am, before her parents were killed, they named this unfortunate girl Jane Grey. The child has no relatives left, so will be placed into your care. We hope that as she grows older, she will find a family and friends who love her, as much as her parents did treat her well.

Yours faithfully, Dr Cullen

After reading the letter, Helen, quickly dressed the girl in to warmer clothing and carefully let the girl sleep in a warm secure crib,,(which had bright red covers and was dimly lit, in case the girl awoke) Helen knew that the girl was now safe, and was determined to send her to a happy family, that would love her dearly.
