Chapter 2: Another life?

Jack's POV
I flipped through the channels on my TV, seeing that no one mentioned me or caught me in the act. I let out a big and long sigh in relief. Thank the lord. No one seems to witness anything.

I was about to give myself a pat on the back until the bell rang. I'm pretty sure that the others aren't here, considering it's my day off... Please don't let it be some dude in black. Please don't let it be some dude in black. Please don't let it be some dude in black!

I looked on the security camera screen, and there he was, a dude in an all black suit. Well fuck me in the ass. I jinxed myself. I facepalmed myself, then thought, Maybe if I don't answer him, he would leave and never come back.

"Mr. Frost, I know you're there. May I come in? There is an important matter that concern you."

Why do I keep jinxing myself?

"Of course. Please wait for a second. I'll open the door." I pushed the button on my tablet, which opened the gates of my house.

He walked in calmly, like he was expecting something from me. Coming into my house, I invited him to the living room, where we would talk about this 'matter'.

I made tea and placed it on the table, as it finished. "Thank you very much, but I'm afraid I don't have time for tea." He politely rejected.

"What's the rush, sir? Is there some place that requires your attendance?"

"You can put it that way, but I'll get straight to the point. Mr. Frost, yesterday on 3 o'clock in the afternoon, you were having a photoshoot, yes?"

"Correct. I was modeling for the weekly magazine. Why ask of this?"

"You also finished the shoot a few minutes before the attack, yes?"

"Yes." Does he know..?

"You were seen returning back to the area, possibly, to save some of the people, by one of our agents and they also..." He looked directly into my black eyes through his shades. I gulped silently. "... Claimed seeing you smashed a pile of cement from the fallen building, with what seem to be your bare hand, or was it bared?" The question stabbed me in the chest. My heart was beating so fast. Calm down, Jack. This is where your acting skills come into play.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said calmly, showing no hints of fear or hesitation.

"Mr. Frost, I'm one of the top agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, your act won't help you get out of this." He exclaimed sharply. An that made my last glimpse of escaping disappeared.

"All right, you caught me. Whatever your soldier saw was sadly true. But that doesn't mean that I'm going with you to your little HQ if that's what you're planning." I said casually, no longer polite or gentle.

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice in the matter." He said firmly.

"Oh? Are you going to force me?" I questioned.

"We won't force you to come." He replied. I raised a brow. "More like, blackmail you into doing so."

I froze, but soon broke out into laughter. "And how are you going to do that? Do you even have any evidences to do so?"

"Oh trust me. We have more than enough."

"Is that so? Would you care to explain, Mr. Top Agent?" I mocked.

"The agent, who witnessed you, did not report with no proofs. They recorded it when they saw you helping the civilians."

"..." I sweated, looking at him with a glare.
