I woke up to a pounding head ache.
"What the hell! Where am I?" I asked trying to sit up.
"Lightning! Oh thank god your ok!" I felt strong arms wrap around me. I didn't have to open my eyes to know that it was my uncle.
"I'm fine uncle Daryl." I chuckled and hugged him back.
"I thought you were gonna die." He spoke softly looking so broken.
"I'm not gonna die for a long time yet uncle." I smiled at him.
"You better not. I raised you better than that." We both laughed.
"Where is everyone?" I asked. I noticed that me and uncle Daryl were the only ones here.
"Outside. They're all worried about you." He said.
"Can I go outside? Please." I put on my puppy dog face and he sighed in defeat.
"You know I can't resist that face. Just take it easy okay?" He chuckled. I giggled and slowly got up.
"Here take these. They aren't chewable so drink this with it." My uncle Daryl passed me 2 white pills with a glass of water.
"Pain killers. They'll get rid of that headache." My uncle continued.
"Thanks." I took the pills and drank the water.
We made our way outside and I shielded my eyes from the bright light.
"LIGHTNING!" I heard my name being yelled.
I took my hand down and saw Maggie running over to me. She wrapped her arms around me and squeezed the life out of me.
"Maggie... I... I.... Nee... Need.... To... Brea... Breath...!" I squeaked and Maggie loosened her grip but didn't let me go.
Maggie finally let me go and looked into my eyes.
"How are you?" She asked her voice full of concern.
"Well, now that you have me out of her death grip I'm doing just fine." We all chuckled. "So, can we still go for that run?" I asked feeling hopeful. Maggie chuckled and than frowned.
"Are you sure your up for it?" Maggie asked.
"I'll be fine." I replied.
"Ok. Go get your stuff we leave in 10." Maggie smiled. I new she didn't wanna take me but oh well.
"YAY! Thank you!" I squealed.
"Hey you have to take it easy out there though. Ok? You need to be careful and try not to run unless your being chased." My uncle spoke with a stern but soft voice.
"Yes sir." I fake saluted at him and ran to get my stuff.
I woke up and put on my belt and my gun in its holster. We were going on a run today but I really wanted to go see Lightning. I hope she's ok.
I walked out if my room and made my way towards Lightning's room. I went inside and no one was there except for a sleeping Lightning.
I looked down at Lightning's beautiful face. If she wasn't so busy being rude all the time I would find her attractive. She looked so peaceful sleeping though.
I left and went to go eat breakfast. I sat down with a couple of the younger kids and ate silently. When I was finished Maggie came over and talked to me.
"We leave in 10 for the run. Lightning is coming too." Maggie spoke.
"WHAT!? She can't come. She isn't even awake and her head injury." I was shocked at Maggie and a little angry.
"She woke up a few minutes ago and she said she would be fine. I'm not happy about it either but it's her choice." Maggie spoke softly.
I sighed. "Fine. But she has to stay with one of us at ALL times!" I said. I dont know why I cared about Lightning so much but I just did.
"I'm good with that. I'm gonna go get ready." Maggie said looking relieved. She walked away and I went to go pack my things.
